Abstract

A notification system for providing information regarding a vehicle that travels a route, includes a transmitter subsystem, mounted in the vehicle, for transmitting a signal having a characteristic identifying at least one of the route and the vehicle, and a receiver subsystem fox receiving the transmitted signal, identifying at least one of the route and the vehicle, and providing an alert signal after a user specified, predetermined time period.
