Abstract

The invention relates to a method for automatically checking files, and to a device for implementing said method. The inventive method especially enables the content of multimedia-type files to be automatically checked. The aim of the invention is to be able to automatically check the content of the files, thus avoiding the visualisation of the content by an operator. To this end, the inventive method for monitoring multimedia files comprises the following steps: the file(s ) to be checked are selected; the criterion or criteria for checking the content of the file is/are defined; and for each selected file, the analysis method(s) associated with the defined criterion or criteria for the check is/are implemented, the analysis method associated with a respective criterion for the check enabling the fulfilment of said criterion by the content of the file to be examined.
