Abstract

L'invention porte sur des systèmes et sur des procédés de détection d'un champ électrique de la présence d'un objet sur un dispositif d'accès mobile tel qu'un lève-fauteuil ou rampe pour fauteuil roulant, et désactiver le dispositif. Une ou plusieurs électrodes sont installées sur le lève-fauteuil ou la rampe afin de générer des champs électriques. Un dispositif d'imagerie de champ électrique reçoit des entrées des électrodes et est capable de faire une distinction entre les variations du champ électrique. En connectant le dispositif d'imagerie de champ électrique à un contrôleur, plusieurs électrodes peuvent être sélectionnées séquentiellement pour détecter un objet dans différents endroits ou pour déterminer la taille et la forme de l'objet. Lorsque le dispositif d'imagerie de champ électrique détecte un objet, le contrôleur, en communication avec le dispositif d'imagerie du champ électrique, peut valider une fonction d'un véhicule telle que l'arrimage du lève-fauteuil de façon à prévenir les blessures chez l'utilisateur.
