CUSHION FOR IMPROVING HEALTH
TECHNICAL FIELD
The present invention relates to a cushion for improving health, and more
particularly to a cushion for improving health, which facilitates ventilation around the
hip that becomes easily moist with perspiration when a person is sitting.
BACKGROUND ART
Generally, a cushion is used for giving convenience to a person who sits on the
floor or chair in a house or a restaurant. A conventional cushion commonly has a
certain thickness and is filled with buffer substance to give a cushioning force to a person sitting thereon. However, such buffer substance represented by polyester cotton, called cloud cotton, stores heat generated from the human body due to its specific
features, not emitting the heat outward, though it gives the cushioning force to the user
as mentioned above. Thus, when a cushion is used for a long time, the temperature of
the cushion is increased over the body temperature to cause unpleasantness to a user.
In particular, a driver who drives a car with sitting on a narrow seat for a long time may
tolerate such sticky feeling between the skin and the pants wetted by sweat.
In order to solve such problems, a cushion equipped with a cool/hot air
ventilation means is recently proposed. This cushion has a ventilation device operated by power supplied from outside, and the air generated by the ventilation device is
ventilated through a plurality of ventilation holes formed in the cushion. However, this
cushion has not so good ventilation effects since the ventilation holes may be blocked
when a user seats and presses down the cushion. In addition, since the anus and the
genital organs, very important parts of the human body, are contacted with the cushion
surface, heat is accumulated around them to cause unpleasantness and bacterial infection
such as piles. There is not yet developed a cushion capable of solving such problems.
DISCLOSURE OF INVENTION
The present invention is designed to solve the problems of the prior art, and therefore an object of the invention is to provide a cushion for improving health, which
prevents the anus and the genital organs from being contacted with the base when a user
seats on by installing supports, and allows easy ventilation through gaps formed
between the supports and the genital organs.
In order to accomplish the above object, the present invention provides a cushion for improving health, which includes a base, supports protruded from the base at a
predetermined interval to form an air path therebetween together with supporting the
hip; and a ventilation member for generating airflow to be passed through the air paths
formed between the supports. Preferably, protrusions are provided on a surface of each support, and the air
path has a width of a center portion is gradually wider from an entrance portion and
gradually narrowed toward an exit portion, and a width of the exit portion is narrower
than that of the entrance portion.
Preferably, the ventilation member has a wind direction controller for controlling
a direction of the airflow, and the supports includes heat wire therein.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
These and other features, aspects, and advantages of preferred embodiments of
the present invention will be more fully described in the following detailed description,
taken accompanying drawings. In the drawings: FIG. 1 is a partially-sectioned perspective view showing a cushion for improving health according to a preferred embodiment of the present invention; and
FIG. 2 shows the cushion for improving health in a used state according to the
preferred embodiment of the present invention.
BEST MODES FOR CARRYING OUT THE INVENTION Hereinafter, preferred embodiments of the present invention will be described in
detail referring to the accompanying drawings. Prior to the description, it should be
understood that the terms used in the specification and appended claims should not be
construed as limited to general and dictionary meanings, but interpreted based on the
meanings and concepts corresponding to technical aspects of the present invention on
the basis of the principle that the inventor is allowed to define terms appropriately for
the best explanation. Therefore, the description proposed herein is just a preferable
example for the purpose of illustrations only, not intended to limit the scope of the
invention, so it should be understood that other equivalents and modifications could be made thereto without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention.
FIG. 1 is a partially-sectioned perspective view showing a cushion for improving
health according to a preferred embodiment of the present invention, and FIG. 2 shows a
used state of the cushion shown in FIG. 1. Referring to FIGs. 1 and 2, the cushion of
the present invention includes a base 10, supports 20 formed on the surface of the base 10, and a ventilation member 30 for ventilating airflow toward the supports 20. The base 10 is generally a cushion fabricated by facing two sheets of cloth and then sewing edges of the cloth. The base 10 may have a circular, oval or polygonal shape, and preferably a quadrangular shape. The base 10 is filled with a predetermined buffering substance. This buffering substance should be suitably filled to have a regular height over the entire base 10 and give elasticity to some extent for buffering. The buffering substance may be commonly used polyester cotton, or also be medical gel, bio ceramic material and grain such as hulled millet and buckwheat. The supports 20 are installed to one surface of the base 10 to support the hip of a human when he/she seats on the cushion. Preferably, the supports 20 has a pair of right and left supports with a substantially same shape conforming to the shape of the hip, and the supports 20 are protruded from the base 10 so that the anus and the genital organs between buttocks are not contacted with the base when a user seats thereon. That is to say, as shown in FIG. 1, the supports 20 are positioned with an air path 22 interposed between them. Preferably, the air path 22 passing through the opposite sides of quadrangle has a width gradually wider from an entrance portion 22a at an edge to a center portion 22b, and then gradually narrowed to an exit portion 22c, finally narrower than the entrance portion 22a. Thus, when air is blown from the entrance portion of the air path 22, eddies are generated due to the wider center portion and the narrow exit portion to ventilate air toward the genital organs. Of course, eddies may be generated when the exit portion 22c is closed. However, in this case, the flowing-up air is too strong so
that a user may feel unpleasantness.
On the surface of each support 20, protrusions 24 are provided. There are
arranged a plurality of protrusions 24 at regular intervals with the same size and height.
The protrusions 24 massages blood vessels located in the hip and also form a gap
between the supports 20 and the hip to improve the overall ventilation. In addition, a
plurality of holes 26 are formed in the surface of the support 20. Though not shown in
the figures, health-aiding materials such as stones such as yellow soil particles, jade and
biotic stone emitting far infrared rays, charcoal having antibacterial and dehydrating
functions, or aroma or medicinal herbs for various functional treatment may be
contained in the support 20 with a certain thickness, and these holes 26 allows emission
from the health-aiding materials. In addition, the support 20 includes heat wire 28
therein. The heat wire 28 heats the air generated in the ventilation member 30, and
gives warmth to the hip contacted with the support 20 so that a user may use the cushion even in a cold weather, like in winter. The ventilation member 30 is used for generating airflow for ventilation.
Preferably, the ventilation member 30 is installed to the entrance portion 22a of the air
path 22, and has the same height as the support 20 so as to give no inconvenience to a
user who seats on the cushion.
The ventilation member 30 includes a power supply 32, a fan 34 and a switch 36,
which are commonly used in the art and not described in detail. However, the power supply 32 may be provided with a plug connectable to an indoor/outdoor outlet, a cigar
plug connectable to a cigar jack in case that the cushion is used in a car, or a battery so
as to supply power to the ventilation member 30.
A wind direction controller 38 is provided to a ventilation hole positioned in a
front surface of the ventilation member 30. The wind direction controller 38 is composed of a plurality of grills, and it suitably controls a direction of airflow by
moving the grills horizontally or vertically. Now, operation of the cushion for improving health according to the preferred
embodiment of the present invention is described with reference to FIG. 2. A user seats on the cushion of the present invention so that the ventilation
member 30 is oriented forward, and then turns on the switch 36 so as to apply power to
the power source 32. Then, the fan 34 is rotated to ventilate airflow into the air path 22. After that, the user suitably controls the grills of the wind direction controller 38
so that the airflow is oriented to a desired direction. For example, the use may adjust
the grills upward so that airflow is directly ventilated toward the genital organs, or adjust the grills horizontally so that airflow is flowed horizontally and indirectly
ventilated to the genital organs by means of eddies.
The present invention has been described in detail. However, it should be
understood that the detailed description and specific examples, while indicating preferred embodiments of the invention, are given by way of illustration only, since
various changes and modifications within the spirit and scope of the invention will become apparent to those skilled in the art from this detailed description.
INDUSTRIAL APPLICABILITY
The cushion for improving health according to the present invention gives the
following effects.
First, since the anus and the genital organs are not directly contacted with the
base and the air path is formed between the base and the hip, the cushion ensures
sufficient ventilation near the hip and the genital organs.
Second, since the air path is configured so that the width of the entrance portion
is wider than that of the exit portion and the width of the center portion is wider than that of the entrance/exit portion, the airflow generated by the ventilation member may be
naturally ascended and ventilated around the genital organs.
