Abstract

This invention is related to an electro-welded joint for building metal wire meshes by folding the ends of metal elements or rods (10) to form a hook over another, transverse metal element, with an electro-welded finish (12) to join said fold to itself with the aim of reinforcing the mesh panel thus formed. The mesh panel thus formed by carrying out the invention is used for the formation of gabions (20) in civil construction works, especially retaining walls. Said joint folded over to form a hook is produced by MIG welding instead of the spot welding which is employed in similar structures for this type of mesh.
