Abstract

A memory card connector (30) is provided for mounting on a printed circuit board. The connector includes an insulative housing (32) having a rear terminal-mounting section (34) mounting a plurality of terminals for engaging appropriate contacts on a memory card and defining at least part of a receptacle for receiving a mating end of the memory card. A side wall section (38) extends forwardly from at least one end of the rear section. A grounding member is mounted on the side wall section for grounding the memory card to the printed circuit board. The grounding member (46) includes an arm portion (46b) for engaging a ground contact on the memory card and a base portion (46a) sandwiched between the side wall section and the circuit board to hold the base portion in positive contact with an appropriate ground pad (72) on the printed circuit board.
