Abstract

An enhanced security device comprising: an access device (101) , a biometric reader (104) attached to the access device, a memory configured to receive data from the biometric reader, where the biometric reader is used in conjunction with a learning mode to store known biometric information for comparison at a later time, and a security device (306) associated with the access device, and a comparator including the learning mode and a utilization mode which performs a comparison in the utilization mode between unknown biometric information obtained from the biometric reader and the known biometric information (309) stored in the memory such that the utility of the access device is dependent on the comparison.
