Abstract
The invention relates to a method for producing an X-ray image using an X-ray image amplifier. A photocathode (1) produces free electrons as a result of incident X-ray beams (R) in the X-ray image amplifier and the free electrons (2) are accelerated by means of acceleration and deflection voltages on an outlet luminescent screen (3). Scintillation light is produced by absorbing the free electrons (2) in the output luminescent screen (3) and the scintillation light is detected by a camera (5) arranged downstream from the X-ray image amplifier. According to the invention, the acceleration and deflection voltages are automatically regulated in order to reduce the size such that the intensity of the scintillation light emitted by the output luminescent screen (3) does not fall below or exceed a predetermined dynamic range of the camera (5).
