Abstract

The invention relates to containers with bactericidal, bacteriostatical and antifungal characteristics and to a process for obtaining these containers by rotational molding, using thermoplastic materials which comprise titanium dioxide and silver chloride in their composition. The containers carried out according to the invention , are intended for storing and sterilizing water and other fluids, in the conditions in which there is necessary to inhibit the microflora (bacteria, see weeds, mooshrooms and others), thereby preventing the biological and organoleptical modifications of the content for long time. The containers shall not be used for storing fluids in natural fermentation (wine, pickles and others) due to that inhibition.

Claims

5 AMENDED CLAIMS
[Received by the International Bureau on 16 December 2004 ( 16.12.2004 ): original claims 1-2 replaced by amended claims 1-5 ] 1. Container for storing an alimentary fluid constituted from an active layer from polyethylene which has in composition silver ions, which layer can be protected by an exterior layer realized only from polyethylene, characterized in that , the active layer has a thickness of 0,05...1 mm and it comprises 0,005...0,3% by weight a powder which contains Ag+ with a biocide activity resulted from AgCI deposed on an inert support from TiO2 , and the exterior layer , when it subsist, has a thickness of 1...2 mm and it is in intimate contact with the active layer.
2. Container according to claim 1 , characterized in that, the powder with a biocide activity is constituted from an inert support from titanium dioxide and silver chloride in ratio by weight TiO2 : AgCI of 8 : 2.

Process for realizing a mono layer container, defined in the claims 1 and 2, characterized in that , there are mixed 1 ,5...9,0 parts by weight of low density polyethylene with 0,3% by weight biocide powder previously homogenised a time of 20 minutes, there is introduced the mixture in a mould form which is mantained at a temperature of 230°C a time of 25 minutes, the, mould being in a rotational movement about two axes, with a rotational speed of 8,0 rot/min and 2,1 rot/min, maintaining the mould form into the furnance for 5 minutes to form the polyethylene layer on the mould form walls, the mould form is cooled for 60 minutes under ventilation, it is stopped the rotational movement and is drown out the mono layer container.

Process for realizing a two layers container, defined in the claims 1 and 2, characterized in that , there are introduced in a mould form 7,5 parts by weight of low density polyethylene for obtaining the exterior layer, the mould form being at a temperature of 230°C in a rotational movement, there is maintained the mould form into the furnance 10 minutes, after that there are introduced in the mould form 1 ,5 parts by weight low density polyethylene mixed with 0,1% by weight biocide powder previously homogenised a time of 20 minutes, there is maintaining the mould form into the furnance for 5 minutes at 230°C to form the interior layer, the mould form is cooled for 40 minutes under ventilation, it is stopped the rotational movement and is drown out the mono layer. container.
5. Process according to claims 3 and 4, characterized in that, the biocide powder is constituted from an inert titanium dioxide support on which is deposed the silver chloride in ratio by weight for titanium dioxide : silver chloride of 8 : 2.
