Description

DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION INSTANT LOTTERY TICKET Field of the Invention
The invention refers to a lottery ticket containing a crosswords square which, distributed to the public, reunites in one single object several functions, namely: an instructive-educational and recreational game, for all ages; secondly, it represents a means offering the possibility of obtaining immediate gains in cash or in objects, similar to the lottery tickets and, thirdly, it constitutes an advertising means .
Description of the Prior Art
It is well known the crosswords puzzle game sometimes named. "square", formed of a frame closing inside, horizontal and vertical sets of white case-squares, separated, by black squares. The sets of horizontal as well as of vertical squares are numbered and adjacent to the "square" are the corresponding pre-typed definitions.' They are grouped into "horizontal" definitions and "vertical definitions" and, in bi-univocal correspondence with the fields inside the square, they are also numbered. Analyzing the definitions, the square solver enters the answers in the sets of squares , horizontally and vertically, until fully filling them in.
These games are printed in specialized reviews or in the contents of other publications, being not, therefore, distinct, detachable objects.
This type of crosswords puzzle game has the disadvantage to be somewhat monotonous, deprived of a certain spectacularity and of the elements of surprise. At the same time, it has one single function, namely, that of an instructive-educational and recreational game.
Summary of the Invention
The lottery ticket, in accordance with the invention, comprises, on one of its sides, a ^crosswords square as well as a field where there are pre-typed definitions, horizontally and vertically, all definitions being fully covered by an opaque screen-layer that, once grated out, make the definitions visible, on the screen layer being typed, in a contrasting colour, a helping indication of the type "grate here!"; in the vicinity- of the square, in a field, the solution to the square is printed, at a reduced scale, in normal position or rotated by 90° or > 180° and covered, also, by an opaque screen-layer, similar to the screen-layer covering the definitions and wherein it is printed an inscription of the type "after solving, grate here!". On the side on which is the square are printed certain covered control series, .also, with one screen-layer, opaque, wherein it appears the indication "do not grate!", the control series serving only to the organizer of the lottery for validating the winning tickets. The a/m screen-layers are made out of an opaque ink, gratable, with a slight adherence and which, thereafter,-- '..can easily be„,r detached by grating with ,,,.the edge of a tough object, without affecting the inscriptions from underneath the screen-layers .
The invention has a first advantage in the fact that, as compared to the usual lottery tickets, we are all familiar with, the new lottery ticket also becomes an instructive-educational and recreational means, in pursuance of the introduction of as crosswords square that must be solved in order to be eligible for winning an immediate prize.
Secondly, unlike the crosswords known and used squares thus far, the solving of a square printed on one of the sides of the lottery ticket can be accompanied, according to the "probability" law, specific to the lottery games, by an immediate gain, in money or in objects, from among the categories specified on one of the sides of the lottery tickets .
Also, it is anticipated a major increase of public attractiveness toward this category of instructive- educational games and lottery ticket as a result of -the introduction therein of some elements of "suspense" in the definition reading stage , attached to the crosswords puzzle square.
At the same time, it can be foreseen that a bigger number of participants will be attracted, who will be Vtempted by the possibility of obtaining immediate prizes, after the correct solving of a square. This new lottery ticket offers, both to the public and to the organizer, the possibility a quick, immediate and doubtless confronting of the correctness of solving a square, by means of the correct, sole, pre-printed solution on one of the sides of the lottery ticket and which, initially, when it was bought, was ^covered by <a--'.screen .-of• opaque...ink. .*.. ε
The presence near the square, in view of giving a correct solution, represents a support in the complete and correct solving of the square and, thereby, it also increases the chance of the player to win one of the gains announced. A last foreseen advantage is the increase of the safety of the gambling system, by the avoidance of ambiguities or of irregularities that might appear in the gain validation stage, on account of the introduction of a control series, also covered by an opaque screen, that will be grated out upon validation, by the organizer.
✓ Detailed Description of the Preferred Embodiment
Other particulars of the invention will be described, more in detail, further on, by the presentation of a preferred example of the achievement of the invention, also in connection with the figures 1 and 2, representing: fig.l, front view of one of the lottery ticket sides;
- fig.2, front view of the other side of the lottery ticket.
The lottery ticket, in accordance with the invention, is made under the form of a plane support 1, thin and relatively rigid, rectangular or square, made out of an adequate material, cardboard paper for instance, allowing both the printing through usual procedures and, at least on one side, the writing, in manuscript, by means of the usual writing instruments.
On one side of the plane support 1 - shown in fig.l
- it is printed a square 2 having a configuration known in se. Inside a frame a some horizontal lines b are d awn, parallel ,«aamong rthem and.,... some vertical,, lines σ, „,<Λt, delimiting a multitude of white cases d as well as some black squares e. Inside the frame a are a series of figures f, whereby the horizontal rows are numbered as well as a second row of figures g by which he vertical columns of the square 2 are numbered. On the same side of the plane support 1, in a field h the definitions i are pre-printed, in accordance with the words following to be entered, letter by letter, in the white cases d, blank, in a well-known manner.
In the lottery ticket manufacturing process, after all definitions are printed in the field h, they are covered in full by a screen-layer j, represented in the drawing by a crosshatched rectangular surface and partly grated. The screen-layer j is applied by one of the known procedure, for instance, by printing or by silk-screening, using an opaque, gratable ink.
From the technological point of view, it is recommended that the screen-layer j out of gratable ink be applied over a film of colourless and transparent lacquer, uniformly applied on the entire surface of the support-plan 1, so that after the definitions i are covered, the screen- layer j has a slight adherence to the lacquer film and, as such, thereafter, when a player starts solving the square 2 , the screen-layer j can easily be detached, by grating it by means of a tough object, such as a coin, without being .thereby affected the definitions i from underneath.
When applying the screen-layer j, it is printed on it in a contrasting colour, a helping indication k such as "grate here!", who the player who solves the square.
On the same side of the lottery ticket, • llus'trated in>.-fig.l, in *a field .1 it is,- ...printe at a much, smaller scale the solution to the square m, placed normally, rotated by 90° or by 180°.
In a similar was as is the case for the field h, with definitions i, the entire surface of the field 1 is covered by a screen-layer n, out of gratable, opaque ink, whereon it is printed an inscription o of the type "after solving, grate here!". In the drawing, the screen-layer n is represented by a crosshatched rectangle, partly detached in order to see the solution to the square , that is underneath.
In a field p it is entered a short text explaining the manner in which prizes are paid for, subject to the values thereof. Close to a bar code, it is preprinted a letter control series r and a number control series s, both covered by a screen-layer out of gratable ink, on which it appears the inscription "do not grate!".
On the other side of the plane support 1 - illustrated in fig.2 - in a field t it is printed the mark, and in a fiold u the name of the lottery's organizer is written.
A field v is reserved for printing the game instructions and the list of the "key" winning words, that can appear in the field of square 2, after it is correctly solved, each "key" word being associated to a certain prize. At the same time, a space z is destined to the pre-printing of certain advertising elements.
The lottery ticket described above, as stated, represents an object in itself, that can be marketed and turned to account as such. It is self understood that, by keeping the particulars specified in detail in the example of achievement, the lottery ticket can be "integrated" in any type o.f review, newspaper- or other., ublication.
After coming into possession of a lottery ticket and after reading the instructions and the game and participation regulations, the beneficiary passes on to the solving of the square 2, starting to grate the screen-layer j in order to "discover" the definitions i pre-typed in the field h and it will write the ' respective answers in the adequate spaces from square 2, until same is filled in, in the known manner.
After correctly solving the square 2, it is also grated out the screen layer n concealing the solution to the square m, correct and complete and that is confronted with the square 2 solved by the player.
If square 2 is correctly solved, i is also grated out the screen layer n concealing the solution to the square m, correct and complete, that is confronted with the square 2, solved by the player.
If the solving is correct, the player looks for in the square 2 filled in, one of the "key" lucky words , written on the other side of the ticket; if it is found, the player will become the winner of the prize announced in the correspondence by the "key" word. The validation of the gain by the organizer will be made by checking the r and s control series, by grating out the covering screen- layers.
