Abstract

An X image stream (221), a Y image stream (223), and a Z image stream (225) are each selected by respective viewers. The processor integrates the three image streams such that frames from each stream are successively, rapidly and iteratively sent to the DMD as sub-frame elements to control the DMD as follows. The DMD sends a first frame of image stream X (231) including sub-frames of red, green, and blue which are distributed to the left most portion of viewer space via the rotating mirror and the right most six of twenty reflecting mirrors configured similarly to those described in projection space segment distributor (145). After being reflected by the reflecting mirrors the images are sent to the (151) to become image in a left view (251), Next the DMD sends a first frame of image stream Y (233) including sub-frames of red, green, and blue which are distributed to the middle portion of viewer space via the rotating mirror and the center most six of twenty reflecting mirrors configured similarly to those described in projection space segment distributor (145). After being reflected by the reflecting mirrors the images are sent to the (151) to become image in center viewer space (253). Next the DMD sends a first frame of image stream Z (235) including sub-frames of red, green, and blue which are distributed to the right most portion of viewer space via the rotating mirror and the left most six of twenty reflecting mirrors configured similarly to those described in projection space segment distributor (145). After being reflected by the reflecting mirrors the images are sent to the (151) to become an image in right most viewer space (255). In a multiple image stream spatially segmented viewing process (254), the DMD successively sends a series of sub-frame images including the above and then, a second frame of the first image stream (237), a second frame of the second image stream (239), a second frame of the third image stream (241), a third frame of the first image stream (243), a third frame of the second image stream (245), and a third frame of the third image stream (247) are sent into user space via the rotating mirror (127), reflecting mirrors, and (151). Thus a left video stream, middle video stream, and right video stream are produced.
