Description

FOLDABLE HANDLE FOR A BALL VALVE
Technical Field
This invention is related to the handle for the ball-valve. To say more in details, it is intended to provide the handle for the ball-valve that can prevent the malfunction of the ball-valve in advance by making it impossible for the handle to be opened and closed in the bent and overlapped state.
Background Art
In general, the ball-valves set up in the middle of the pipe lines of various liquids and gases are made to have chimney holes pierced through by its balls and to have the above balls connected with the handle , thereby controlling the opening and closing of the pipes by turning the handle in 90 degree reverse direction directly.
This kind of ball is connected with handle installed on the outside of the body of the ball-valve, and the handle roughly has the type of a crank to make it easier to grasp, the outer part of the bent metallic handle being coated with synthetic resins as a finishing material. However, such a previous handle for the ball-valve is crossed lengthwise in a right angle direction of the pipe and therefore is protruded wide from the pipe. So it needs a wide range of space to open and close the pipe, and it has such a problem that the connected parts of the ball-valve can be installed only under the condition that enough space is secured around its surrounding area. And such a ball-valve constituted like this presented numerous problems, like the unexpected safety accident of being opened on the part of the valve when the operator of the ball-valve happened to hit the protruded handle and had the closed pipe opened, if due attention was not paid.
In order to solve this problem, the inventor already made a Korean patent application (application number : 10-2003-0007774) for the handle for the ball-valve (Refer to FIG. 1), but in the case of the invention previously applied, the ball-valve is in a likelihood that it may be opened and closed unwillingly out of carelessness of the operator since it is possible for the valve to be opened and closed in a position that the handle is bent and overlapped. Therefore, it has keenly been required that these defects be solved.
Disclosure of the Invention
Thus, in the field of the handle for the ball-valve where the handle is bent and overlapped as mentioned above, this invention is intended to provide a handle for the ball-valve invented to prevent arbitrary opening and closing of the valve basically. This invention has been completed with its technical subject put on supplying the handle for the ball-valve having the means of stopping the bent and overlapped handle so that it would not be opened in the position where the handle is bent and overlapped.

Best Mode for Carrying Out the Invention
FIG 2.3.4 are perspective drawings of one embodiment to which the handle for the ball-valve (1) supplied by this invention is applicable.
As is widely known in the handle for the ball-valve, the ball has a chimney hole to control the opening and closing of the contents (liquids or gases) passing through the pipe, and the handle (3) on the body (2) opening and closing the ball is made such that it can be developed , bent and overlapped by using the hinge (4).
The above handle (3) forms a stopper (6) when bent and overlapped so that the end of one side of the movable handle part (3b) can be hung on the stopper (5) formed on the body (2) to the effect that it can not be turned at its will. The above stopper, as shown in FIG 3 and 4, can be formed in one when the movable handle part (3b) is press-formed or can be fixed separately by welding.
FIG 5 is another different embodiment of this invention. It exemplifies that the magnet is fixed on the upper part of the fixed bolt (7) fixing the fixed handle part (3a) in such a way that it can turn, and on the corresponding part of the movable handle part (3b) to keep the movable handle part (3b) having the above stopper (6) from being developed for each voluntary movement in the position that it is bent and overlapped. The above magnet(8), as shown in FIG 6, can be formed in the type of inlet on the corresponding side of the stopper(5) formed on the body (2).
FIG 7 and 8 show another different embodiment of this invention. These show that the hanging groove (9) is formed on the stopper (5) formed on the body (2), and the elastic hanging bar (10) to be hung on the above hanging groove (9) is formed on the hung corresponding side of the movable handle part (3b), being bent and overlapped when press working.
FIG 9 and 10 are another different embodiments of this invention. These illustrate that the ball(12) elastically installed on the spring (11) is installed in the stopper (5) formed on the body (2), and the concave type hanging groove (13) is formed on the corresponding side in the movable handle part (3b) so as to be elastically hung on the ball (12).
And FIG 11 shows another different embodiment of this invention. This illustrates that the ball (12) elastically installed on the spring (11) is installed on the side of the stopper (5) formed on the body (2), and the hanging groove (13) is formed, on which the ball (12) is to be hung , in the stopper (6).
And FIG 12. 13 show another different embodiments of this invention. These show that one end of the pan spring (14) is fixed on the fixed bolt (7), while the other end is elastically installed on the hinge (4), so that the hinge bar (15) of the movable handle part (3b) constitutes a cam that is supported elastically by the above pan spring
(14).
FIG 14 and 15 show another different embodiments of this invention. These illustrate that the hanging pin (16) is formed on the stopper (5) formed on the body (2), and the long hole type hanging ball (17) to be hung on the hanging pin (16) is formed on the corresponding side of the movable hanging part (3b).
Though not shown herein, it is certain that the above hanging pin (16) can be formed on the movable handle part (3b), and the hanging hole (17) can be formed in the stopper (5).
This invention can be made as mentioned above.
As for this handle(3) for the ball-valve composed of the bent and overlapped fixed handle (3 a) and the movable handle (3b) parts, the handle (3) can be kept stopping so as not to allow the valve to be opened and closed arbitrarily when the movable handle part (3b) is bent and overlapped.
Simultaneously, the bent and overlapped movable handle part (3b) can be held continuously so that it is not developed for each voluntary movement at its will.
More detailed description will be made about its method of use and operation hereinafter.
The case of FIG 2 up to FIG 4 show the basic composition of this invention.
If the movable handle part (3b) is bent and overlapped to the side of the fixed handle part (3 a) with the hinge (4) as a starting point after the ball-valve is closed, the stopper (6) formed on the one side of the movable handle part (3b) is hung on the one side of the stopper (5) formed on the body (2), thereby preventing arbitrary turning of the handle (3) in the closed state of the ball-valve (1) as well as its opening in advance.
That is to say, if the stopper (6) is stopping on the stopper (5) of the body (2) in a situation where the movable handle part (3b) is bent and overlapped to the fixed handle part (3a), it is impossible to turn the whole of the handle (3) to the left or to the right by the stopper (5). Basically, the ball-valve (1) is prevented from being opened arbitrarily in the locked state, and it is impossible to turn the handle (3) unless the movable handle part (3b) is developed for each movement with the hinge as a starting point.
If the stopper (6) of the above movable handle part (3b) is thought of as an ultimately preventive means of voluntary opening of the ball-valve (1) caused by turning of the whole of the handle (3), there are many other means of preventing each voluntary development of the movable handle part (3b) under the condition that it is bent and overlapped.
FIG 5 and 6 show the case that the magnet is used to prevent the voluntary unfolding of the movable handle part (3b) in the situation where it is bent and overlapped to the fixed handle part (3a).
FIG 7 and 8 show the case that the movable handle part (3b) does not develop voluntarily by getting it hung elastically through the hanging groove(9) and the hanging bar (10). And in the case of FIG 9 up to FIG 11, the movable handle part (3b) is shown to be hung elastically in the stopper as it is stopped by the ball (12) installed elastically on the stopper (5) formed on the body (2) of the ball-valve (1) and the hanging grooves(13, 14) formed on the movable handle part (3b), thereby preventing its arbitrary developments.
FIG 12 and 13 illustrate that the hinge bar (15) of the movable handle part (3b) is constituted as a cam to prevent arbitrary opening of the movable handle part (3b), and it (15) is installed elastically with the pan spring (14).
Thus, the region of the hinge bar (15) made in the type of the above cam is supported elastically by the pan spring (14) in the situation that the movable handle part (3b) is opened, bent and overlapped., so that the arbitrary opening of the movable handle part can be prevented in advance. FIG 14 and 15 show the case that the hanging pin (16) is formed on the stopper (6) as a means of substituting the stopper (6), and the hanging hole (17) to be hung on the hanging pin (16) is formed on the corresponding side of the movable handle part (3b).
If the movable handle part (3b) is bent and overlapped, the hanging hole (17) is hung on the hanging pin (16), and thereby the movable handle part (3b) can be prevented from voluntary turning and opening in the closed situation of the ball-valve (1).
Fig 16 and 17 illustrate another embodiment of the present invention, wherein hanging ball is provided so that the ball is hung on the stopper and prevent from voluntary turning and opening in the closed situation of the ball-valve.
Industrial Applicability
As seen above in details , the handle(3) for the ball-valve(l) supplied by this invention is composed of the fixed handle part (3a) and the movable handle part (3b) capable of being bent and overlapped, and forms a stopping means that is stopping in the stopper (5) formed on the body (2) of the ball-valve (1) with the movable handle part (3b), so that it can not be opened arbitrarily in the bent and overlapped situation. It(3) is simultaneously installed with the means that does not make the movable handle part developed at its will in the bent and overlapped situation. Thus the problem of safety accidents can be prevented, which is arising from the voluntary opening of the ball-valve, and various conveniences in terms of use and control can be maximized. The effect is expected to be big and great.
