Abstract

Methyl vinyl ether to be used as a starting material in synthesizing a tetraalkoxypropane (in particular, 1,1,3,3-tetramethoxyporpane), which is usable as a starting material in producing pyrazole derivatives and pyrimidine derivatives serving as intermediates in producing drugs and agricultural chemicals and also useful as a highly reactive skeleton forming agent, is in the form of a gas and, therefore, can be hardly used in industrial production processes. Under these circumstances, a tetraalkoxypropane, which is useful as a skeleton forming agent for pyrazole derivatives and pyrimidine derivatives serving as intermediates in producing drugs and agricultural chemicals, can be easily produced on an industrial scale by starting with industrially usable propoxyvinyl ether without resort to the gaseous methyl vinyl ether.
