TOY FOR PET
Technical Field
The present invention relates to a toy for a pet, and more
particularly, to a toy for a pet that feeds pets such as a dog and
a cat, while allowing the pets to enjoy the toy,
Background Art
A typical toy for a pet usually has a food-like mock, which
is favored by respective pet animals. In most cases, peculiar
scent is added to the food-like mock so that the pet can enjoy
chewing it .
Such a toy for a pet, however, has a disadvantage that the
pet easily loses interest in the food mock. If a pet owner throws
food such as a jerked meat and confectionery to a pet in order to
see that the pet takes the food deliciously, food meal or slices
are scattered here and there on the floor, thus making the floor
dirty. This makes the owner inconvenient because he or she has to
clean those stuffs.
Disclosure of Invention
Accordingly, the present invention has been made in view of
the above problems. It is an object of the present invention to
provide a toy capable reducing contamination of the floor by
maximum and allowing a pet animal to enjoy food.
In order to accomplish the above object, there is provided a
toy for a pet comprising: a tumbling body 100 of a cylindrical
shape, wherein the tumbling body includes a weight member 111
within a lower unit 110 of an approximate hemispherical shape: and
a clamping means 200 for fixing food for a pet animal on the
tumbling body 100.

Best Mode for Carrying Out the Invention
The present invention will be described in detail by way of an
embodiment with reference to the accompanying drawings. FIG. 1 is a
dismantled perspective view illustrating a toy for a pet according
to the present invention, FIG. 2 is a perspective view illustrating
a state where the toy for a pet shown in FIG. 1 is assembled, and
FIG. 3 is a perspective view illustrating a state where the toy for
a pet is used according to the present invention.
Referring to FIG. 1 and FIG. 2, a tumbling body 100
approximately has a tumbling doll shape and has a weight member 111
within the lower unit 110 of a hemispherical shape. The tumbling
body 100 is a plastic material. The weight member 111 within the
lower unit 110 is formed using a metal of cement like a common
tumbling doll. A plurality of iron cores 112 are positioned around
the weight member 111. An iron piece 113 is hung at the center of
the iron cores 112. Thus, if the tumbling body 100 shakes, metallic
sound is generated.
An upper unit 120 of the tumbling body 100 is approximately a
cylindrical shape. A clamping means 200 for fixing food for a pet
animal is disposed on the top of the upper unit 120.
A clamping means 200 includes a push plate 210, a circular
groove 220, a rectangular hole 230, a coil spring 240 and a button
250.
The push plate 210 is circular when being from the upper uni
120. An insertion protrusion 211 of a bar shape is formed in a
central bottom of the push plate 210. An extension member 212
extended in a predetermined width is formed at one side of the push
plate 210. A latch gear 213 is formed on the outer circumference of
the extension member 212 and thus serves to engage a button 250,
which will be described later. A fixing protrusion 214 is formed at
the bottom of the extension member 212. The fixing protrusion 214
serves to prevent the push plate 210 from being deviated from
tumbling body 100. The fixing protrusion 214 may have a different
shape or can be replaced with an additional fixing member.
The circular groove 220 is formed at the center of the top
surface of the tumbling body 100. In a state where the coil spring
240 is inserted into the circular groove 220, the insertion
protrusion 211 is inserted and the extension member 212 is then
inserted into the rectangular hole 230 formed in one side of the top
surface of the tumbling body 100.
The button 250 serves to prevent the outer circumference of
the top surface of the body 100 from being exposed by means of a
fixing pin 251 and at the same time to engage the latch gear 213 of
the extension member 212 by means of the elasticity of a hairspring
252.
Rubber sheets 260 are coupled to the bottom of the push plate
210 corresponding to a portion to which food is fixed and the top
surface of the tumbling body 100, respectively, in a slightly
protruding manner. Thus, various shapes of food can be compressed
and fixed by means of a high friction force. In particular, a sheet
spring 261 integrally formed on the bottom of the rubber sheet 260
coupled to the top surface of the tumbling body 100 serves to double
the force, which fixes food with its own elasticity.
Meanwhile, an absorption sheet 300 is formed in the outer
circumference of the lower unit 110 in the tumbling body 100, so
that a toy 310 having an absorption sheet, for example, a rubber
ball that emits fragrance, can be attached to the absorption sheet
300.
As illustrated above, it is preferred that one or two
absorption sheets 300 are depressed in opposite directions. The
reason is that if the toys 310 are attached to three or more
absorption sheets 300, the flexibility of the tumbling body 100 may
be degraded since the toys 310 support the tumbling body 100 against
the floor. Moreover, the reason why the absorption sheet 300 is
provided in the tumbling body 100 and an absorption sheet is
provided even in an additional toy 310 is for preventing the toy
from being easily deviated in use by increasing the absorption force.
How to use the toy for a pet constructed above according to
the present invention will be described.
As shown in FIG. 2 and FIG. 3, in a state where one end of
food for a pet animal such as a jerked meat and confectionery is
laid on the rubber sheet 260 over the tumbling body 100, the food is
fixed by depressing the push plate 210 with the palm of the hand.
At this time, the coil spring 240 is compressed and the latch gear
213 of the extension member 212 performs a latch function by means
of the button 250. Thus, the push plate 210 is fixed at a lower
position. Furthermore, the food is further stably fixed by means of
the elastic force and the compression force of the two rubber sheets
260 and the sheet spring 261 that supports both the rubber sheets
260.
As such, after the food is simply fixed, if food is provided
to a pet, the pet licks or cuts the food. In this process, the
tumbling body 100 may shake right and left or fall down and stand up
again due to the weight member 1-11, thus producing an interesting
scene. Furthermore, if the tumbling body 100 shakes, the iron piece
113 hits the iron cores 112, thus generating a metallic sound.
In addition, if an additional toy 310 is attached to the
absorption sheet 300 formed in the lower unit 110 of the tumbling
body 100, a pet animal may enjoy the toy 310 with interest.
Meanwhile, in case where the remaining food needs to be
removed or an existing food needs to be replaced with a new food, if
the button 250 in the outer circumference of the body 100 is
depressed, the latching action of the latch gear 213 is released and
at the same time the push plate 210 instantly projects upwardly by
means of the elastic force of a compressed coil spring 240. At this
time, the push plate 210 maintains its original position without
being deviated from the tumbling body 100 by means of the latching
action of the fixing protrusion 214 at the bottom of the extension
member 212,
Industrial Applicability
According to the present invention described above, while
keeping the function of a tumbling doll, food for a pet animal that
is commercially sold is fixed so that a pet animal can eat the food
while enjoying the doll. Therefore, the present invention has
advantages that its use is convenient and an interesting scene is
produced while a pet eats food. Furthermore, it is possible to
reduce contamination of the floor since food is not scattered on
the floor.
