Abstract

The invention concerns a portable object with chip comprising a support, a chip and contact strips, said contact strips (22) being designed to be urged into contact with the contact strips of a read and/or write device when the object is introduced into said device. The invention is characterized in that the object comprises two elements which are assembled, namely: (i) one first element (40) forming a support, typically made of plastic material, which has a non-standardized format and which is provided with a reception housing (400), and (ii) a second element (30) including a smart card of standard format of reduced size comprising the chip and the contact strips (22), said second element being housed in the reception housing to enable said contact strips to be seen at the surface.
