Abstract

The present invention is directed toward an absorbable crystalline segmented copolymer comprising a polyalkylene succinate segment end-grafted in a single-step with a mixture of monomers comprising caprolactone, 1-lactide, and/or glycolide. The present invention is also directed toward an absorbable crystalline segmented copolymer arising from a trihydroxy compound that is reacted in a single-step with a mixture of monomer comprising ∈-caprolactone, 1-lactide, and/or glycolide to produce monocentric polyaxial polymers.
