Abstract

L'invention concerne la prise en charge d'unités de communication (219, 221) dans un système de communication. Une ou plusieurs unités de communication (219, 221) en état de repos entrent dans un état vacant de fonctionnalité d'état de repos réduite. Les unités de communication (219, 221) en état vacant communiquent avec une unité de communication de prise en charge (217), par une interface aérienne (223, 225) à plage courte. L'unité de communication de prise en charge (217) communique avec le réseau fixe du système de communication par une station de base de services (109). L'unité de communication de prise en charge (217) prend en charge les unités de communication (219, 221) en état vacant, en communiquant avec le réseau fixe, pour réaliser une fonctionnalité de gestion d'état de repos associée à l'unité de communication (219, 221) en état vacant. En particulier, l'unité de communication de prise en charge (217) communique avec un processeur mandataire (307) réalisant une interface appropriée avec le système de communication. L'invention s'applique particulièrement à des réseaux de communication GSM et UMTS.
