Abstract

A removable drive/cartridge data storage and retrieval system where the cartridge has a spinning storage media that is spun without the use of moving mechanical linkages between the drive and the media to spin the media. The hole normally required to hub the 5 cartridge is eliminated, which reduces the possibility of the contamination, and reduces RRO and NRRO.
