Description

DRAINAGE TRAP
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
Technical Field
The present invention relates to a drainage trap, and in particular to a
drainage trap which is capable of preventing a choked state of a drainage path
and effectively cleaning a drainage trap.
Background Art
A drainage trap is designed to prevent a reverse flow of a bad smell
from a drainage pipe by making a waste water stay in a drainage path. As
shown in Figure 1 , the conventional drainage trap includes a body 2 engaged to
a drainage pipe 7, and a cap 6 engaged to an upper portion of the body 2.
The body 2 of the drainage trap 1 includes a step shoulder 2a on a
surrounding portion of the upper side for mounting a cap 6 thereon. An upper
plate 3 having an upper bent portion 4a is provided in an inner lower portion. A
drainage path 5 is formed between the upper bent portion 3a and the lower bent
portion 4a.
When a waste is flown into the drainage trap 1 , the waste flows onto an
upper portion of the lower plate 4 in the interior of the body 2 and is flown into
the drainage pipe 7 through the drainage path 5 between the lower bent portion 4a and the upper bent portion 3a and is drained to the outside.
In the above conventional drainage trap 1 , when it is used for a long
time, hairs or other solid wastes may be caught by the drainage path 5, so that
the drainage trap 1 may be choked. In the above conventional drainage trap 1 ,
the lower plate 4 and the upper plate 3 are integrally formed with the body 2,
and the body 2 is fixed to the drainage pipe 7, it is impossible to clean the
choked drainage path 5.
Disclosure of Invention
Accordingly, it is an object of the present invention to provide a drainage
trap which overcomes the problems encountered in a conventional art. It is
another object of the present invention to provide a drainage trap which is
capable of effectively cleaning the interior of the drainage trap for thereby
preventing a choking phenomenon of the drainage trap.
To achieve the above objects, there is provided a drainage trap which
includes a body which has a step shoulder formed in a surrounding portion of
an upper side, and a lower side opened cylindrical protrusion provided in a
center portion of the interior of the body, a cap which is mounted on the step
shoulder of the body, and a cover which is designed to have an inner diameter
larger than an outer diameter of the cylindrical protrusion and a height larger than a height of the cylindrical protrusion and which is covered on a surrounding
portion of the cylindrical protrusion in such a manner that a certain gap is
formed between the surrounding portion of the cylindrical protrusion and an
upper side of the same and has a plurality of drainage holes in a surrounding
portion of the same.
In the present invention, the important elements of the drainage trap
through which a waste flows are exposed to the outside by opening the cap and
lifting up the cover, so that it is possible to clean the surrounding portions of the
drainage holes of the cover and the cylindrical protrusion of the body which may
be easily choked by hairs or foreign substances. It is possible to prevent a
choking phenomenon of the drainage trap for thereby enhancing a reliability of
the product.
Brief Description of Drawings
The present invention will become better understood with reference to
the accompanying drawings which are given only by way of illustration and thus
are not limitative of the present invention, wherein;
Figures 1 and 2 are a disassembled perspective view and a cross
sectional view illustrating a conventional drainage trap; and
Figures 3 and 4 are a disassembled perspective view and a cross sectional view illustrating a drainage trap according to the present invention.
Best Mode for Carrying Out the Invention
The features and advantages of the present invention will be described
with reference to the accompanying drawings.
Figure 3 is a disassembled perspective view illustrating a drainage trap
11 according to the present invention, and Figure 4 is a cross sectional view
illustrating an assembled state of Figure 3. There are provided a body 12, a cap
16 and a cover 18.
The body 12 has a flange 12b in an outer portion of an upper side of the
same. A drainage pipe 17 is mounted thereon. A step shoulder 12a is formed in
an inner surrounding portion of the upper side of the body 12. A corresponding
surrounding portion of the cap 16 is mounted and supported thereon.
A cylindrical protrusion 13 having an opened lower side is protruded
from an inner center portion of the body 12. The waste flown into the body 12
through the holes of the cap 16 is drained to the connection pipe 15 through the
cylindrical portion 13.
The cover 18 which is a feature of the present invention is covered on
the surrounding portion of the cylindrical protrusion 13 of the body 12. The inner
diameter of the cover 18 is larger than the outer diameter of the cylindrical protrusion 13, and the height of the same is larger than the height of the
cylindrical protrusion 13. The cover 18 is converted onto the surrounding portion
of the cylindrical protrusion 13 in such a manner that a certain gap is formed
between the surrounding portion of the cylindrical protrusion 13 and the upper
end of the same.
In addition, a plurality of drainage holes 19 are formed in the
surrounding portion of the cover 18, so that the waste flown into the interior of
the body 12 through the cap 16 is flown to an upper side of the cylindrical
protrusion 13 through the drainage holes 19 and is drained to the connection
pipe 15.
In the above drainage trap 11 according to the present invention, when
a waste is flown into the interior of the body 12 through the holes of the
drainage trap 11 , the waste is flown into the space between the cover 18 and
the cylindrical protrusion 13 through the drainage holes 19 of the cover 18 and
is flown into the connection pipe 15 through the drainage port 14 over the
cylindrical protrusion 13 and is drained to the outside.
When the drainage of the waste is completed, since the water is always
stored in the interior of the body 12 by the level corresponding to the height of
the cylindrical protrusion 13, it is possible to prevent a reverse flow of the bad
smell from the connection pipe 15 or the drainage pipe 17. Here, when the drainage trap 11 of the present invention is used for a
long time, hairs or other foreign substances may be choked for thereby
preventing a smooth flow of the waste.
In the present invention, it is possible to simply overcome the problems
that the choked phenomenon occurs in the drainage trap 11 compared to the
conventional art.
Namely, the cap 16 which is simply placed on the step shoulder 12a of
the body 12 is lifted upwardly, so that the cover 18 is exposed to the outside.
Since the cover 18 is not fixed to the body 12 but is simply covered on the
upper side of the cylindrical protrusion 13, it is possible to easily lift without
using a certain tool or using an additional work.
When the cover 18 is simply lifted up, since the cover 18, the drainage
holes 19 and the cylindrical protrusion 13 which are the key elements of the
present invention are exposed to the outside. In this state, the hairs or foreign
substances caught in the surrounding portions are easily removed, so that it is
possible to overcome the choked problems of the drainage trap.
The drainage trap is simply cleaned in the above manner, and then the
cover 18 is placed on the cylindrical protrusion 13, and the cap 16 is placed on
the step shoulder 12a of the body 12.
Therefore, in the drainage trap according to the present invention, since the interior of the same is easily disassembled, it is possible to easily and
simply overcome the choked phenomenon of the drainage trap.
In the present invention, it is possible to simply and quickly overcome
the choked phenomenon of the drainage trap without a special skill or took for
thereby implementing an easier use.
As described above, in the drainage trap according to the present
invention, the important portions of the drainage trap 11 are exposed to the
outside by simply opening the cap 16 and lifting up the cover 18. It is possible to
conveniently and easily clean the surrounding portions of the drainage holes 19
of the cover 18 and the cylindrical protrusion 13 of the body 12 which are easily
choked by hairs or other foreign substances. It is possible to prevent a choking
phenomenon of the drainage trap for thereby enhancing a reliability of the
product.
As described above, the above description is one embodiment for
implementing a hair cutting scissors according to the present invention. The
present invention is not limited to the above embodiment. As the present
invention may be embodied in several forms without departing from the spirit or
essential characteristics thereof, it should also be understood that the above-
described examples are not limited by any of the details of the foregoing
description, unless otherwise specified, but rather should be construed broadly within its spirit and scope as defined in the appended claims, and therefore all
changes and modifications that fall within the meets and bounds of the claims,
or equivalences of such meets and bounds are therefore intended to be
embraced by the appended claims.
