Abstract

L'invention a trait à un procédé de montage de corps de catalyseur (7), notamment en céramique, dans un tube, plus particulièrement de forme cylindrique, destiné à définir l'enveloppe (2) du catalyseur (1) prévu apte à être inséré dans une ligne d'échappement pour véhicule automobile. Ce procédé se caractérise par le fait que - l'on effectue plusieurs relevés de la section du corps de catalyseur (7) sur la longueur de ce dernier (7); l'on procède à une adaptation du tube en fonction des relevés de section effectués, selon le cas après ou avant y avoir inséré ledit corps de catalyseur (7), éventuellement enveloppé d'un matelas de montage ; une telle adaptation consistant à procéder à des rétreints et/ou à des expansions du tube, partiellement ou sur toute la longueur dudit corps de catalyseur (7) ; - de tels rétreints et/ou de telles expansions étant effectués le long du tube, de manière localisée au droit des relevés de section ayant été effectués préalablement sur la longueur du corps du catalyseur (7), et en fonction de ces relevés.
