Description

HINGE DEVICE WITH PREDETERMINED MOVING SEQUENCE
TECHNICAL FIELD
The present invention relates to hinge device, particularly for household appliances and the like.
The object of the invention is a hinge device with predetermined moving sequence for instance for a door of white goods such as washer machines.
BACKGROUND ART
There are known hinge devices provided with two fixing means, for instance for a household appliance and related door, articulated to an intermediate element, by means of respective rotation pins. Friction and elastic joint means of said hinges, associated to the pins, establish the sequence of the rotations on said pins, during the hinge opening and closing. Said known hinge device allow, for instance, rotating the door alternatively on one pivot or the other.
The rotation sequence is defined by the ratio between the resistance torque generated by the friction and elastic joint means.
The main drawback of said known hinge device consists in that humidity, temperature, dirt, oil residual products and wear change the ratio between the resistance torques and forces associated to rotation pins, causing wrong rotation sequence and thus, for instance, collisions and mutual damages of the door and the respective household appliance.
Other drawback consists in that such known hinge devices has a complicated and expensive manufacturing.
DISCLOSURE OF THE INVENTION
An object of the present invention is to propose a hinge device virtually indifferent to environmental conditions, dirt, lubricants and wear in order to guarantee the correct operation and a predefined moving sequence in every condition.
Other object is to propose a simple, reliable device having a cheap manufacturing. The above-mentioned objects are achieved according to the claim content.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
The characteristics of the present invention are underlined in the following with reference to the attached drawings, in which: figure 1 shows a plan view of the hinge device object of the present invention, in a full opening condition and associated to appliance portions and to a respective door; - figures 2 and 3 show perspective views of figure 1 hinge device of respectively in partial and full opening conditions; figures 4 to 6 show a variant of figure 1 device in the same conditions of figures 1 to 3; figures 7 to 11 show schematic views of a variant of figure 1 device in subsequent conditions of an opening and closing cycle.
BEST MODE OF CARRYING OUT THE INVENTION
With reference to figures 1 to 3, numeral 1 indicates the hinge device with predetermined moving sequence including a first connection element 2 for an appliance 3, such as a washer machine whose a portion is shown, and a second connection element 4 for a door 5, for instance a porthole of the appliance 3.
The first 2 and second 4 connection elements consist of shaped plates or elements carried out by melting or forming, fixed to the appliance 3 and to the door 5 by screws, rivets, welding or the like.
The first 2 and second 4 connection elements have seats for respective rotation pins first 6 and second 7 for rotatably connecting seats carried out in respective ends of a middle element 8 made of shaped sheet or cast.
The device 1 includes magnetic means 9 associated to first rotating pin 6 for stopping the rotation thereof during the rotation of second rotation pin 7.
The first magnetic means 9 include a magnet member 10 and a magnetic abutment member 11 respectively fixed to the first connection element 2 and locked to the middle element 8 or vice versa. The magnet member 10 and the magnetic abutment member 11 are positioned at the same distance from the first rotation pin 6, interposed and associated thereto, and they are at mutual contact in a rotation condition of the second pivot 7.
The magnet member 10 is, for instance, of the type used for maintaining the closing of furniture vertical doors and it includes a fixing means 12 fixed to the first connection means 2, by means of screws or joints, and fit to constrain, with clearance, a magnetic element 13 including at least a permanent magnet. The clearance or the reduced motion of magnetic element 13, allows the full abutment to the magnetic abutment member 11 without needing high assemblage precision.
The magnetic abutment member 11 is in single body with the middle element 8, in that it is carried out from a shaped and folded edge thereof, made of ferromagnetic material, for instance ferrous sheet. In alternative, the invention provides that the magnetic abutment member 11 consists of a ferromagnetic material element fixed by means of screws or the like, particularly in case of the middle element 8 is made of aluminium, inox steel, plastic or other nonmagnetic material. In alternative, it is further provided that the magnetic abutment member 11 consists of a second magnet positioned with opposed polarity to that one of the magnetic element 13.
The second rotation pin 7 is provided with friction means 14 consisting of a tubular element made of high friction coefficient material, interposed between said rotation pin 7 and the respective seats. In alternative, it is provided that the friction means 14 include a friction sliding block elastically maintained against the rotation pin 7 or interposed between the middle element 8 and the second connection element 4.
The device 1 includes stop means 15 including abutments carried out in the middle element 8 and fit for mating the second connection element 4 in a rotation condition of the first rotation pin 6, thus stopping the rotation toward the middle element 8 of second connection element 4 on the second pin 7 at the closing rotation of device 1.
The operation provides that, starting from a closing condition of device 1 in which the door 5 mates the appliance 3, an opening force causes the rotation at the same time of door 5, of second connection element 4 and of middle element 8 on the first rotation pin 6 because the friction means 14 inhibit the rotation on the second pin 7.
When the magnetic abutment member 11 mates the magnet member 10, the rotation of the middle element 8 stops and the opening force, exceeding the friction force of friction means 14, provokes the rotation of door 5 and of second connection element 4 on the second rotation pin 7 up to the complete opening of device 1 and door 5. Starting from this last condition, a closing force cause the rotation of door 5 and of second connection element 4 on the second rotation pin 7 in direction of appliance 3 because the mutual magnetic attraction between the magnetic abutment member 11 and the magnet member 10 at mutual contact overcomes very much the friction of friction means 14, inhibiting the rotation on the first pin 6.
When the second connection element 4 mates the stop means 15 of middle element 8, the closing force, exceeding said magnetic attraction, cause the rotation on the first rotation pin 6 up to the return to the initial closing condition of device 1 and door 5.
The device 1 pass from the closing condition to the full opening condition and vice versa with rotation motions on the pins according to the above mentioned predetermined sequence which is repeatable with precision, independently from external conditions, from dirt or lubricant presence and from wear, because in every case the rotation friction on the second pin 7 is much higher than the first pin 6 and much lower than to the attraction force of magnetic means 9.
It is important to observe that the predetermined moving sequence and the middle element 8 of device 1 cause the door 5 moving apart from the appliance 3 and said door 5 opening even over 180°, advantageously allowing to embed the door 5 aligned to the appliance 3 and to reduce the encumbrance of door 5 in the full opening condition.
In the variant of figures 4 to 6, the device 1 is provided with further magnetic means 9 including a further magnet member 10 fixed, at 90° from the first magnet member 10, to the first connection element 2 and having the magnetic abutment member 11 shared with the first magnetic means 9.
The operation of this variant differs from that one above described in that the two magnet members 10 impose to rotate first on the second pin 7 and after on the first pin 6 in opening and in closing, so defining a different predetermined moving sequence.
The variant schematically shown in figures 7 to 11 in a complete opening and closing sequence provides that each rotation pin 7, 6 is associated to respective magnetic means 9 and that the second pin 7 is without friction means 14. In such variant the connection elements first 2 and second 4 are carried out in single body respectively with the appliance 3 and the door 5. The first connection element 2 has a magnet member 10 fit for mating a magnetic abutment member 11 of the middle element 8 to which a second magnetic member 10 is fixed, fit for mating a second magnetic abutment member 11, fixed to the second connection element 4.
The operation of this last variant provides the same moving sequence of the device of figures 1 to 3.
The invention provides that the positioning and the quantity of magnetic means 9 can be different for modifying the moving sequence.
An advantage of the present invention is to provide a hinge device with predetermined moving sequence which is virtually indifferent to external conditions, dirt, lubricants and wear in order to guarantee the correct operation in every condition.
Other advantage is to provide a simple, reliable device having a cheap manufacturing.
