Description

A FUNCTIONAL BODY MASSAGER
Technical Field
The present invention relates to a functional body massager available ' in connection with the characteristics of respective regions of the human body, and more particularly, to a functional body massager that is operated by a motor, generates aroma, negative ions and melody during the operation, and can be used multi-functionally as its massaging mechanisms are exchanged in accordance with the characteristics of the functions and shapes of the regions of the human body, while preventing the electric wires from being twisted during the operation.
Background Art:
Typically, a motor-operated massager converts a rotating force of a motor into upward and downward movements at the state of being connected to an electric wire and conducts its massaging action for. a desired part of the human body through a massaging mechanism mounted onto a movable axis.
However, the conventional motor-operated massager conducts just the action of hitting the regions of the human body, such that a user feels hurt after the use for a long period of time or due to the difference in the skin characteristics of respective individuals. Moreover, the massaging is so simple that the user feels that it is boring, thereby making it impossible to have the repeated use of the massager, which fails to achieve the excellent massaging effect that can be achieved only in use for a long period of time. In addition, all kinds of massagers are almost standardized, without taking into consideration that the regions of the human body have different functions and shapes, such that they are not applied to a variety of regions of the human body, and they also don' t conduct a functional massaging action for the regions of the human body . Moreover, the conventional motor-operated massager is operated in such a manner as to be turned in all the directions for massaging the regions of the human body, such that the electric wires connected thereto are so twisted that it is damaged, which makes it impossible to make the massager itself further used. Also, when in use, the electric wires may be wound around the regions of the human body.
Disclosure of Invention Accordingly, the present invention has been to solve the above-described problems, and it is an object of the present invention to provide a functional body massager that generates aroma, negative ions and melody during the operation, does not apply any pain to the regions of the human body by using a repulsive force by the pneumatic pressure in a massaging mechanism that is mounted thereon, varies the shape of the massaging mechanism along the curved regions of the human body upon massaging, and prevents the electric wires from being twisted for convenience in use.

Best mode for Carrying Out the Invention
Now, an explanation on the preferred embodiment of the present invention will be given hereinafter in detail with reference to the accompanying drawings .
As shown in FIG. 1, a functional body massager has a handle grip 20 for holding the massager that is operated in connection with an electric wire 10, a body 30 having a movable shaft 31 for converting a rotating force of a motor into upward and downward movements, and a massaging mechanism 40 mounted on the movable shaft 31, the functional body massager characterized in that the handle grip 20 includes a rotary ball 12 integrally formed with a protecting tube 11 that is inserted from the outside for surrounding the outer periphery of the front end of the electric wire 10 at an one end thereof, the rotary ball 12 being inserted into an inside space 21 formed at the end portion of the handle grip 20 at an one side of the body, and has two spaced apart assembling plates 23 having a guide hole 22 contacted at the outer periphery thereof with the rotary ball 12 that is inserted into the inside space 21 of the handle grip 20 at the front end thereof. At that time, the assembling plates 23 are formed integrally with the inside space of the handle grip 20 that is divided in a length direction so that a motor is provided in the inside space of the body 30. Alternatively, they are provided with assembling grooves 24 of a predetermined width at the inside walls of the handle grip 20 and the rotary ball 12 is provided with an assembling plate 30 having a guide hole 14, such that the assembling plate 30 is mounted onto the assembling grooves 24.
Also, the guide hole 14 or 22 is smaller in size than the diameter of the outer circumference of the rotary ball 12, such that the rotary ball 12 can be always placed at the one side of the assembling plate 13 or at the one sides of the assembling plates 23.
At this time, the guide hole 14 or 22 is provided with a mounting face 15 or 25 that is curved to correspond with the circumference curvature of the rotary ball 12, such that the rotary ball 12 can be contacted with the mounting face 15 or 25 in a stable manner, thus to be turned. Furthermore, the handle grip 20 is provided with a through hole 26 that is smaller than the circumference diameter of the rotary ball 12 at the end portions coupled of the handle grip 20, such that the rotary ball 12 is not deviated from its position. Of course, the through hole 26 has an inner periphery curved to correspond with the circumference curvature of the rotary ball 12. At this time, the rotary ball 12 is made of ABS resin, polypropylene resin, or polyethylene resin that has a predetermined rigidity capable of being sufficiently resistant to friction and keeping its shape, as an integral body with the protecting tube 11. The protecting tube 11 has a plurality of cut grooves 11a continuous along the length direction on the outer peripheral surface thereof, thereby obtaining a good degree of flexibility when it is bent, with a result that the part of the electric wire 10 adjacent to the end of the protecting tube 11 is not broken or damaged .
At this time, there are the plurality of cut grooves 11a that are divided in plural on the same line, such that the protecting tube 11 can be freely bent in every direction, and each of the plurality of cut grooves 11a is stepped against the adjacent cut groove 11a, thereby achieving a good degree of durability.
Thus, the electric wire 10 that is generally twisted when the massager is used to massage a variety of regions of the human body is never twisted since the rotary ball 12 fixing the electric wire 10 is turned in the handle grip 20 of the body 30.
Also, the body 30 is generally divided into two bodies, and the body 30 is provided with mounting holes 31 each having a predetermined inner space into which an infrared lamp 1 is disposed at the front thereof and with assembling posts 32 that are protruded inwardly at the outer peripheral surface of each of the mounting holes 31, each of the assembling posts 32 having a thread of a predetermined height formed at the central portion thereof, such that the assembling posts 32 are solidly fixed to a fixing plate 2 to which the infrared lamp 1 is secured, by means of a coupling member like a screw. Next, the infrared lamp 1 is inserted into a reflection hat 3 that is provided with a negative ion emitting body 4 at the front thereof, the negative ion emitting body 4 having a plurality of diffusion holes 4a for generating negative ions and a through hole 4b through which the light of the infrared lamp 1 is emitted. Also, over the negative ion emitting body 4 is provided a fixing cap 5 such that the negative ion emitting body 4 being formed of a pad containing a negative ion generating material is placed in the fixing cap 5.
At this time, the mounting holes 31 are formed at the positions corresponding to the top surface of the body 30 such that a predetermined space between the both ends of a motor 33 mounted in the body 30 is utilized.
Especially, the mounting holes 31 are formed on the top surface of the body 30 on which moving holes 35 are pierced such that the movable shaft 34 onto which the massaging mechanism 40 directly contacting with the human body is mounted are exposed. Thus, the infrared rays that are generated when the infrared lamp 1 is turned on are directly emitted to the diseased part, so that a physical massaging action and heating effect by the infrared rays are felt at the same time.
At this time, each of the mounting holes 31 has the assembling posts 32 that are protruded inwardly at the outer peripheral surface of the inside thereof, each of the assembling posts 32 having the thread of a predetermined height formed at the central portion thereof, such that the assembling posts 32 are solidly fixed to the fixing plate 2 to which the infrared lamp 1 is secured, by means of a coupling member like a screw.
At this time, the infrared lamp 1 has the conical reflection hat 3 formed at the outer periphery thereof, with a result that the infrared rays all reach the diseased part, without any distribution.
Also, the negative ion generating body 4 is formed of a plurality of laminated pads in which granular active carbon or jade is filled, including the through hole 4b through which the light of the infrared lamp 1 is emitted, at the middle portion thereof, and the plurality of diffusion holes 4a for making the sectional area of the negative ion generating pad enlarged, at the circumference of the through hole 4b, such that the negative ions caused by the heating according to the generation of the infrared rays are effectively distributed. The fixing cap 5 into which the negative ion generating body 4 is inserted at the one side thereof is formed of a transparent casing body, and it has the corresponding number of through holes 5a to the plurality of diffusion holes 4a at the bottom thereof, for making the negative ions effectively distributed.
At this time, between the negative ion generating body 4 and the fixing cap 5 is provided an adjusting plate 6 on which the corresponding number of adjusting holes 6a to the plurality of through holes 5a and diffusion holes 4a are formed, such that the fixing cap 5 is turned to control the openness of the through holes 5a, which enables a degree of emission of the negative ions to the outside to be appropriately controlled. Also, the fixing cap 5 has locking wings 5b of a predetermined width formed at the outer periphery thereof, the locking wings 5b locked to the inside of the mounting hole 31, such that it is not deviated or separately turned. Therefore, when power is applied to the massager of this invention, the infrared lamp 1 is turned on and then the negative ions are generated from the negative ion generating body 4, such that they function to sterilize all kinds of bacteria on the diseased part of the human body as well as to give good influence to the human body .
The body 30 into which the motor 33 having a driving part for operating the massaging mechanism 40 is mounted is provided with an aroma storing part 36 that is formed to a predetermined depth and has a plurality of ventilation holes 35, at the both outsides of the back thereof, respectively. At an one side of a motor axis 33a is provided an impeller 37 that is adapted to generate air as the motor axis 33a is turned such that aroma 7 in the aroma storing part 36 is distributed through the plurality of ventilation holes 35. The aroma storing part 36 is covered with a detachable cover plate 8 with a plurality of through holes 8a thereon.
At this time, the aroma storing parts 36 are formed within the space occupied by the motor 33 that is mounted in the body 30, without having any separate space, but they may be protruded to the outside of the body 30.
The through holes 35 of the aroma storing part 36 are adapted to make the aroma distributed widely by the wind generated from the impeller 37 mounted on the motor 33 in the body 30, but they may perform the function, without employing the impeller 37.
Also, the cover plate 8 is provided with the protruding parts 8c each having a locking projection 8b at the outside of the lower end thereof, such that it is rotatably coupled to the aroma storing part 36, while being contacted with the inner periphery of the aroma storing part 36. The aroma storing part 36 is provided with locking grooves 36a that are formed to correspond with the locking projections 8b of the protruding parts 8c and insertion grooves 36b that are formed to insert the protruding parts 8c thereinto, at the inside thereof engaging with the cover plate 8, such that the aroma 7 can be exchanged into new one with ease if necessary.
Also, at the inside of the cover plate 8 is provided an intermediate plate 9 that has the same through holes 9a as the through holes 8a of the cover plate 8, such that the openness of the through holes 8a is controlled as the cover plate 8 is turned, which enables an amount of aroma emitted to be regulated. The impeller 37 that is adapted to make the aroma effectively distributed is fixed to be passed through the motor axis 33a at the central portion thereof, such that it engages with the motor axis 33a as the motor axis 33a is turned, thereby generating the wind therefrom. The wind generated makes the motor 33 cool to reduce the heating of the motor 33 and at the same time makes the aroma 7 in the aroma storing part 36 distributed to the outside, via the through holes 35 on the body 30. As the wind generated from the impeller 37 by the rotation of the motor 33 makes the aroma 7 distributed, the aroma is emitted during the use of the massager of this invention, which makes a user feel good and gives a lot of advantages to the human body. The aroma can be freely chosen and exchanged with the help of the cover plate 8.
A music generating part 50 that is mounted in the inside of the body 30 is formed to engage with a main power switch 60 controlling the power applied to the motor 33.
The music generating part 50 includes a circuit substrate 51 on which an integrated circuit chip having music recorded thereon is formed and speakers 52.
At this time, the circuit substrate 51 is formed integrally with the main power switch 60 in such a manner as to be inserted into the inside of the handle grip 20 of the body 30 and coupled therewith by means of a coupling member like a screw. The speakers 52 are formed to be attached to the space occupied by the motor 33 that is separated by a predetermined distance from the inside of the body 30, without having any separate space, such that they prevent the radiation and vibration of the motor from being transmitted.
More particularly, each of the speakers 52 is mounted in such a manner that a vibrating plate from which sound is generated is placed toward the top surface of the body 30. Thus, the sound generated during the use of the massager of this invention is sent to the outside, without having any offset by the vibration and noise of the motor 33.
So as to make the speaker 52 fixed to be directed to the top surface of the body 30, the body 30 is provided with a guide member 38 of a predetermined height that is adapted to surround the outer periphery of the speaker 52, at the inside of the top surface thereof, and with a plurality of assembling posts 39 that are protruded at the outside of the guide member 38. Then, the speaker 52 is inserted into the guide member 38, and a generally rectangular assembling plate 53 is provided in such a manner as to be closely contacted with the back surface of the speaker 52 and depressed thereagainst . The assembling plate 53 is coupled to the assembling posts 39 by use of a coupling member like a screw, such that the speaker 52 is rigidly fixed thereto.
At this time, so as to make the speaker 52 that is inserted into the guide member 38 ease to output the sound, the guide member 38 is provided with a plurality of cut grooves 38a at the front thereof, such that the sound generated from the speaker 52 is not sent to the outside, without any blocking, which enables a user to hear the sound from the speaker 52, without any having offset or refraction.
Especially, at the front corresponding to the front of the guide member 38 on which the cut grooves 38a are formed is provided an opening/closing stopper 70 that has a plurality of locking projections 71 adapted to be detachably mounted, such that it prevents the outer appearance of the cut grooves 38a from being damaged, thereby achieving more beautiful design.
The circuit substrate 51 includes a memory 54 having a ROM in which lots of sound data is stored, a control part 55 having an one chip integrated circuit that reads one from the data stored in the memory 54 to output the data read as digital sound signals, a digital and analog converter 56 for converting the digital sound signals outputted from the control part 55 into analog signals, and an amplifier 57 amplifying the analog signals. The signals amplified through the amplifier 57 are transmitted to the speakers 52 and converted into the sound signals there.
If the music is not needed, a functional switch 58 that is connected to the control part 55 is manipulated to stop the sound output from the speaker 52.
Particularly, the control part 55 has one or more functional switches 58 that are adapted to select the music or sounds stored in the memory 54 in accordance with the preference of the user or to stop the music in accordance with its manipulation, and it is possible to store various kinds of music in a large quantity of ROM or to exchange the memory part by adoption of a flash memory . In the state where different kinds of music are stored in the addresses of the memory part 54, they are outputted by the control of the control part 55, which makes the user relax during the massaging, without having any anxiety or stress. This gives the user a good mental treatment efficiency as well as a good physical treatment efficiency.
If the massager of this invention operates, it generates light melodies to make the user feel good, which enables the efficiency of the massage to be substantially increased.
The massaging mechanism 40 that is mounted on the movable shaft 34 in the body 30 has a substrate 42 having connecting members 41 for connection with the movable shaft 34 and tube bodies 43 exposed to the outside at the hitting portions thereof, the substrate 42 being coupled with a cover plate 44 having openings 44a into which the tube bodies 43 are inserted and an edge 44b around the openings 44a, such that the tube bodies 43 are not deviated from the substrate 42 coupled with the cover plate 44.
At this time, in case where the tube bodies 43 take a shape of a ball, the substrate 42 has semicircular grooves 42a formed thereon and is then coupled with the cover plate 44, for the purpose of preventing the balls from being deviated. If the semicircular grooves 42a are not formed, there is a need for mounting a separate auxiliary substrate 45 and the substrate 42 is then coupled with the cover plate 44.
As shown in FIG. 20, also, in case where the tube bodies 43 are formed by attaching a flat sheet 43b to a sheet 43a on which semicircular grooves are formed, they have fixing wings 43c formed at the outer periphery thereof. Thus, the substrate 42 is coupled with the cover plate 44 in such a manner where the edge 44b of the cover plate 44 depresses the fixing wings 43 c.
At this time, the tube bodies 43 have a connecting path 43d through which air flows between the semicircular grooves on the sheet 43a, and in case of hitting a part of the human body through the tube bodies 43, the strength of the hits is applied differently at the bent part of the body, but in this case, as the air moves along the connecting path 43d, the hits are applied in the same pressure, which enables the massaging efficiency to be high. The connecting members 41 are inserted into the holes 42a that are pierced to the substrate 42 and secured not to be deviated from the holes 42a by use of a soft cap having a protruding edge 41a. And, when the movable shaft 34 are inserted into the soft cap, they are not easily deviated from the massaging mechanism 40 as the friction by the soft cap increases. Desirably, the tube bodies 43 employed in the present invention are made of a material that is not easy to burst open, has a high degree of airtight, is filled with separate air, and is laminated with separate cover paper at the portion where the tube bodies come in close contact with the human body, thereby enhancing the softness thereof. Also, the tube bodies 43 are filled with hot or cool liquid or with a variety of fillers, and therefore, the massager of this invention conducts the massaging action, keeping the hot or cool state.
The massager of this invention conducts strong hitting by the motor against the skin of the human body with the repulsive force of the pneumatic pressure, and therefore, no pressure is transmitted deeply to the skin, so that the massaging can be continued even against soft skin. This enables the massaging to be variably conducted in accordance with a variety of characteristics of the human body.
According to another embodiment of the massaging mechanism that is mounted on the movable shaft 34, the massaging mechanism includes a substrate 80 having connecting members 81 at the both ends thereof, an auxiliary substrate 100 having fixing members 101 for fixing a support shaft 90 at the both ends thereof, and massaging balls 110 inserted into the support shaft 90, each having an inclined face 111 at the outer periphery thereof. In the state where the support shaft 90 is coupled to the fixing members 101 of the auxiliary substrate 100, the massaging balls 110 are rotatably coupled onto the support shaft 90, and in case where the support shaft 90 is coupled in such a manner where the fixing members 101 of the auxiliary substrate 100 are rotated, the massaging balls 110 are fixed onto the support shaft 90, which does not matter.
At this time, in case where the massaging balls 110 are rotated onto the support shaft 90, a spring 91 is provided at the both sides of the massaging bodies 110, respectively, wherein the massaging balls 110 are disposed in such a manner that the inclined faces 111 correspond with each other. During massaging, the massaging balls 110 are moved along the shapes of the human body.
So as to fix the springs 91 onto the support shaft 90, the support shaft 90 is provided with recesses 92 and 102 that are formed at the insides thereof against the fixing members 101 on which the massaging balls 110 are closely contacted.
Also, the massaging balls 110 are provided with a variety of concave/convex patterns on the surfaces thereof, which improves the massaging efficiency.
When the power is applied, therefore, the massager of this invention operates as the motor is driven and at the same time generates melodies, negative ions and aroma that make the user relax, and the massaging balls operate with the repulsive force of air therein so as not to give any impact to the human body and move along the bent regions of the human body, which enables the massaging action to be implemented in accordance with the characteristics of the human body.
Industrial applicability As set forth in the foregoing, there is provided a functional body massager of this invention that is multifunctional, which gives some advantages that it is convenient to use repeatedly, it does not give any pain to the human body, and it gives a high massaging efficiency to the user.
While the present invention has been described with reference to a few specific embodiments, the description is illustrative of the invention and is not to be construed as limiting the invention. Various modifications may occur to those skilled in the art without departing from the true spirit and scope of the invention as defined by the appended claims .
