More specifically, the housing body (120) has an internal receptacle with an open top to keep the golf equipments (90) therein, and on its external surface it has a multi-puφose pocket (125) to accommodate golf balls (not shown), etc. therein and also has a carrying band (123) to carry the golf bag (100).
In addition, the cover (140) serves to cover the open top of the housing body
(120).
As described above, the wheel unit (160) is provided on the lower part of the housing body (120) to facilitate the transport ofthe golf bag (100).
The wheel unit (160) comprises a pair of the wheels (165) respectively provided on both sides of the housing body (120) and a pair of the support rods (168) connected to the wheels (165) to slidably rotate and support the wheels (165).
The wheels (165) are preferably formed in a circle type.
Referring to Fig. 4, the folding means to alternatively fold or unfold the wheel unit (160) comprises a support bar (181) provided between a pair of the support rods (168) to connect them each other and to fold or unfold the support rods (168) by the input of an external force; a handle (183) extended to the outside of the housing body (120) so that a user can pull or push it to input the external force to the support bar (181); a connecting wire (185) to deliver the external force from the handle (183) to the support bar (181); and a support plate (186) provided at the bottom part of the housing body (120) to link the connecting wire (185) and the support bar (181) and elastically supported by springs (188) as the handle (183) is pulled or pushed.
The support plate (186) is provided with an elongate fitting groove through which the support bar (181) is fitted, and also provided with a hole to be connected to the connecting wire (185) cross-linked with the support bar (181). It is preferable that the support plate (186) is supported by at least one elastic springs (188) and the springs (188) are preferably provided in the opposite direction to the connecting wire (185).
Meanwhile, referring to Figs. 5 and 7, a fixing pin (189) is provided on one
side of the handle (183) to maintain either of the pulled state or pushed state of the handle (183), and a guide hole (184) is formed in the housing body (120) so that the handle (183) can be inserted therein. Further, in the guide hole (184), a pin hole (190) is formed to guide the moving path ofthe fixing pin (189). In Fig. 4, the reference numeral 182, which is not described in the above, represents coupling pins through which the support bar (181) is mounted on the bottom surface ofthe housing body (120).
The function and acting effects of the golf bag (100) with foldable wheels according to the present invention will be described in detail hereinafter. When the golf bag (100) is intended to stand up or to be transported on the ground or field, a user needs to operate the folding means to unfold the wheel unit (160) from the housing body (120).
Specifically, when a user wishes to stand the golf bag (100) on the ground, the user simultaneously pulls and rotates the handle (183) by a predetermined angle to unfold the wheel unit (160). The wheel unit (160) was folded on the housing body
(120) in its initial position, but it is unfolded from the housing body (120) by the operation ofthe handle (183).
When the golf bag (100) needs to stand on the ground, a pair of the wheels (165) which have been unfolded by the rotation ofthe handle (183) and one end of the bottom surface of the housing body (120) serve as three supporting points which lean against the ground.
Also, when the golf bag (100) is to be moved on the ground or field, the wheels (165) rotate and roll on the ground or field to move the golf bag (100) more
easily and smoothly.
In unfolding the wheels (165) from the golf bag (100), the handle (183) is pulled and rotated by about 180°, and then the connecting wire (185) connected to the handle (183) pulls the support plate (186), which in turn pulls the support bar (181). Then, by this pulling force, the wheel unit (160) connected to the support bar (181) is unfolded on the right and left sides of the housing body (120). The handle (183) is maintained at the pulled state by means ofthe fixing pin (189) and the pin hole (190).
In addition, when the golf bag (100) is to be moved, the user may shoulder the golf bag (100) with the wheel unit (160) unfolded, but mostly with the wheel unit (160) folded. In this case, the handle (183) is pushed back into the guide hole (184).
Then, the support plate (186), which is connected to the handle (183) via the connecting wire (185), is returned to its original position together with the handle (183) and the connecting wire (185), by the elastic force of the springs (188) which have been supporting the support plate (186). Thus, the support bar (181) fitted into the groove of the support plate (186) returns to its initial position and simultaneously the wheel unit (160) is folded automatically.
According to the golf bag (100) with foldable wheels ofthe present invention, it is possible to move the golf bag without renting a cart to carry the bag, and it is also possible to carry the golf bag much more conveniently by using a pair of the wheels (165) without shouldering the golf bag (100) or lifting it with one's hand.
Also, in standing up the golf bag (100) on the ground, it is possible to keep the bag (100) well balanced by using a pair of the wheels (165) and one side end of
the bottom ofthe housing body (120) as three supporting points which lean against the ground.
It is also advantageous to use the golf bag (100) with foldable wheels of the present invention since the wheels (165) are easily and freely foldable if necessary.
It will be apparent to those skilled in the art that various modifications and variations can be made to the present invention without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention. The present invention covers the modifications and variations thereof provided they come within the scope of the appended claims and their equivalents.
