Abstract

The invention concerns a support consisting of sized superimposed layers The latter may be made of plastic in its permanent configuration (for numerous applications) or of cotton wadding in its disposable configuration. When they are dry, the support upper and lower layers (1 and 3) are pristine and exhibit an opacity concealing the intermediate layer (2) which comprises four-colour printed patterns. Parents need to be very patient and use many tricks to convince infants to use the pot. The invention provides a solution to this problem in that it transforms toilet training into a simple and playful game. The adult places the support at the bottom of the pot inviting the child to urinate. When the latter urinates the concealed pattern is exposed, causing surprise and laughter and as the games progress using the pot becomes an instinctive reflex. The invention which was originally experimented on a girl infant, by making the desire to use the pot systematic transforms toilet training into a child's game proper. Said invention, designed for a child, aims at facilitating toilet training.

DESCRIPTION

The present invention relates to a device for facilitating toilet training in small children.

Learning the potty is always a time dreaded by parents and nothing makes it easier today. They must use tricks and persuasive treasures to incite

5 children to go there.

The device according to the invention makes it possible to give the child the desire to go on the potty. It is in fact in the form of a support consisting of a superposition of glued layers. The latter can be either plastic in its "permanent" form or cellulose wadding in its "ephemeral" form.

10 The support is intended to be wetted by the urine of the child. Once wet the support which seemed virgin reveals a hidden pattern, printed in the middle layer. To facilitate learning, it is advisable to have a support at the bottom of the pot and to put the child on the pot by explaining to him that he will discover a surprise as soon as he has peed. As soon as the child urinates, showing the drawing,

15 surprises, joy and laughter await you.

Experienced by a child at its origin, the invention, by systematizing the desire to go on the potty to discover the hidden design makes toilet training, strictly speaking, a "child's play"! The child goes on his own to ask for the pot to discover the hidden surprise. At the age

The principle being that in the middle of the glued support is a layer printed in invisible four-color. The first layer may include a marker for the two-sided positioning (eg intaglio or printing), the lower layer having to be in contact with the pot and the visible marker when the disc is placed in the pot. The bottom layer is sufficiently opaque to conceal the printed design. For packaging, the container can take many forms. Non-limiting examples: if the support is a cellulose wadding disc, all of the discs can be folded into one another in a square or rectangular cardboard box so that when a disc is pulled the next one is ready to go out. Folding is thus similar to that of tissue boxes. By way of nonlimiting example, the box will have dimensions of the order of 10 cm by 10 if it is a square and 20 by 10 for a rectangle. Another example of a container is a round plastic box slightly larger than the size of the disc, opening with a plastic clip system and possibly refillable. The discs are thus packaged without folding. On the box we can find the patterns hidden in the discs. Each box will include a series of discs with different hidden patterns, arranged randomly or in series and repeating in the same box so as to allow the child a variety of discoveries to use. The number of supports with different designs is to be determined. According to particular embodiments: the support, in its version

"Permanent" can be composed of a superposition of plastic layers. The top plastic layer should be treated to be opaque when dry and transparent when wet. The middle layer that carries the printed patterns can be card stock. The lower layer is, in this case, plastic; the entire device to be waterproof. The last plastic layer is opaque. In this "permanent" embodiment, packaging is unnecessary. The support can be fixed to the bottom of the pot by a self-adhesive system affixed to the back of the lower layer. In this case, the drawing discovered by the child is always the same except for changing the adhesive backing. The support can take many forms (nonlimiting examples: disc, oval, star) just as its composition (cellulose wadding or plastic) is not limiting. The possibilities of printed patterns are endless as long as the

Claims

1) Device intended to be placed at the bottom of a potty for children in order to facilitate toilet training in children, characterized in that it consists of a support consisting of a superposition of glued layers comprising at least one plain upper layer (1), free of any printing guaranteeing dry opacity, at least one virgin lower layer (3), and a central layer (2) comprising a pattern printed in invisible four-color intended to be discovered when 'a liquid will cover it. 2) Device according to claim 1 characterized in that the support is composed of lower layers (3) and upper (1) of plastic according to a permanent embodiment. _. 3) Device according to claim 1 characterized in that the support is composed of a superposition of layers of cellulose wadding according to an ephemeral embodiment. The composition of the support, suitable for septic tanks and shredders, allows evacuation into the toilet. 154) Device according to any one of claims 1 to 3 characterized in that the middle layer (2) comprises one or more patterns printed in quadricolor on a layer of cellulose wadding for the ephemeral embodiment, or on a card stock for the permanent embodiment.

5) Device according to claims 3 or 4 characterized in that the support ^2u comprises several upper (1) and lower (3) layers of cellulose wadding, the number of layers being a function of their thickness.

-Either square or rectangular, in cardboard, containing the supports folded into each other with a folding similar to that of handkerchiefs, -Either a plastic box of a format slightly larger than that of the support, opening by a plastic clip system that can be recharged; the discs are thus packaged without folding.
