Abstract

Disclosed is an apparatus for stimulating blood vessels and treating and preventing vascular disorders, comprising a housing (1) to which two electrodes (2) that are to be applied to the patient's body are connected. Enclosed in said housing (1) are means (3) for generating electric pulses that are transmitted by the electrodes (2) to the patient's body so as to accelerate the vascular flow and release fibrinolytic and antiaggretating agents without having any hemorrhagic or allergic effect. The characteristics of said pulses are such that the voltage, intensity, frequency, and duration thereof can be regulated according to the treatment prescribed by a practitioner. The invention is characterized by the fact that said apparatus can easily be carried by the patient, the means (4) for regulating the characteristics of the pulses being inaccessible to the patient and any unauthorized person, and the functioning of the apparatus being pre-programmable.
