Description
AVESTHA: THE ELIXIR OF YOUTH
Field of the Invention
The present invention relates to a unique cure to combat ageing, fatigue, stress, inertia, enhance vigour, youthfulness, virility including within it, nutraceuticals. The resulting food product is a consumable product which will prevent/treat ageing, rejuvenate youthfulness, virility, vigour and play a significant role in aiding health and wellness right from infants to elders. The invention relates to a nutritional, organic food product, which serves as a panacea for health, free of chemical pesticides, antibiotics, hormones, herbicides and chemical solvents. The resultant food product has superior stability over normal shelf life. The food product can be consumed in the form of chocolates, biscuits, pastries, cakes, sweets and other confectionary items, jams, jelly, juices, ice creams, in a powder form, pills, as a semi- solid or even in the form of solids.
Background
A large number of people prefer "organic" foods as their source of nutrition since they are not genetically modified and are grown and prepared without the use of chemical pesticides, growth hormones, antibiotics, herbicides or synthetic fertilisers and are processed without the use of solvents like hexane. Numerous nutritional formulae have been developed and researched into over the years to combat the various health problems that people face but no effort has been made to develop an organic nutritional formula.
A study of the plant extracts used by the Aluku women in French Guinea has revealed specific pharmaceutical properties like anti free radical, anti ageing and glutathione auto synthesis reducing properties and action (PCT/FR98/01159). However it is not clear as to when the same can be used and for how long. Moreover the long term side effect of such usage is also not revealed.
It is a known fact that fruits, raisins and spices that are included in a diet are known to increase resistance or thwart afflictions, as the case may be. Moreover, food products in their natural state contain soluble materials which may be lost or altered on contact with solutions of many types. Numerous attempts have been made to modify food products with useful ingredients, namely, "Vitamin Fruit Compositions" by Elliot Ritchie Alexander (US Patent No. 1,886,931) and Krim Nafisii-Novaghar - "Method of Making Dried Fruits" (US Patent No. 5,000,972). But none of these materials are satisfactory in terms of their ability to infuse nutrients in food products in general.
The moisture content in the food products can be reduced through various techniques such as freeze drying, vacuum drying, air drying, osmotic dehydration etc., the latter which higher osmotic pressure outside a food particle causes moisture to migrate out of the food. This is done with sugars or solutions of sugars, e.g. high fructose corn syrup or others.
Food product can be anything, apple, carrot, raisins etc. The composition used can be a medicinal o capable of providing a medical or dietary benefit to humans. Where the food product is a fruit juice oi vegetable juice, and the composition is a phytochemical one, the phytochemical is infused into the fn juice or vegetable juice and further formed into a solid or semi solid mixture. The mixture thus form can be made into a trail e.g., with at least two kinds of food products infused with phytochemicals.
The term "food product" refers to materials of either plant origin or of synthetic sources that conta essential body nutrients like carbohydrates, proteins, fats, vitamins, minerals etc. like fruits, vegetable grains, nuts and the like.
The term "phytochemical" refers to dietary compounds or chemicals derived from plants which provii a health benefit when consumed by humans or animals, namely, chemicals or compounds like lycoper isoflavones etc.
The term "nutraceutical" refers to any compound or chemical that can provide dietary or health benefi when consumed.
