- the data present on the key are stored in a magnetic strip, which magnetic strip can form part of a payment card. A payment card can thus be produced and issued as key relatively cheaply using existing techniques.

- a purchasing party 2 can further place an order for one or more products on server 7 of the selling party 8.
- this order will first be encoded by card reader 4 before the relevant data are sent via the internet 6.
- Server 7 is then provided with a decoding device for decrypting the coded data of the order.
