Abstract

Laminated composites, such as aquatic sport devices, having a rigid core covered on at least one side by a fiber reinforcing material impregnated with an aromatic or aliphatic polyurethane resin are disclosed. For example, surfboards having such a composite structure are disclosed. Methods are also provided for fabricating laminated composites by spread-lamination, for example by hand spread-coating the fiber reinforcing material with the polyurethane resin and curing the resin such that the reinforcing material and the resin form a laminated layer adhered to the rigid core.
