Ce diffuseur passif de vapeur comporte, d'ordinaire, un boîtier, contenant un produit volatilisable, pourvu d'une coquille quasiment imperméable constituant une barrière temporaire entre le produit susmentionné et l'air ambiant. Cette coquille, qui permet de quantifier une certaine quantité de vapeur de produit volatilisable, diffuse cette vapeur lorsqu'elle est enlevée du boîtier. Ce diffuseur est capable de fonctionner durablement tout en gardant une grande efficacité.
