Abstract

L'invention concerne un procédé et un dispositif pour le codage d'un groupe d'images vidéo. On adapte des régions d'au moins une image du groupe à des régions de plusieurs images de référence. On calcule ensuite la différence entre les valeurs de pixel des régions de la ou des images considérées et les valeurs de pixel des régions des images de référence multiples. Cette différence est transformée en coefficients d'ondelette. L'invention concerne également un procédé et un dispositif pour le décodage d'un groupe d'images par le truchement d'une opération qui est l'inverse du décodage décrit.
