Abstract

L'invention concerne un dispositif de détection de défaut fonctionnant selon le principe des courants de Foucault et utilisant une bobine d'excitation placée autour de la colonne pour générer un champ magnétique produisant les courants de Foucault ainsi qu'une sonde placée à l'intérieur de la colonne pour détecter les champs magnétiques résultant des courants de Foucault. Une unité de génération et de traitement de signal est connectée à l'unité d'excitation et à la sonde de sorte à produire un signal de commande pour l'unité d'excitation et à traiter un signal produit en sortie par le capteur. L'unité de génération et de traitement de signal comprend une unité de filtrage destinée à filtrer l'harmonique et le bruit présents dans le signal de sortie du capteur sans introduction concomitante d'un retard de phase significatif dans ledit signal de sortie du capteur. Ce dispositif utilise de préférence un amplificateur à hacheur pour réaliser le filtrage, le hacheur étant sondé en fonction du signal d'excitation, un circuit de verrouillage assurant le maintien du signal de sonde à 90° derrière le signal d'excitation, lequel est avantageusement une onde carrée. Ensuite, l'utilisation d'un nouveau signal de sonde à 90° derrière le signal de sonde existant permet une détection rapide de la différence de phase entre le signal d'excitation et le signal de sortie de la sonde, cette différence de phase étant utilisée pour commander, par exemple, un compteur fournissant une indication du degré de défaut dans la colonne.
