Description

Taschenlampe flashlight
The present invention relates to a flashlight with a plurality of LEDs on the front side and a light source on the long side, in particular a flashlight which makes it possible to illuminate a room.
Flashlights are usually used to briefly illuminate certain points or objects or to be able to carry out repairs in poorly lit locations, for example. Flashlights are also used in the great outdoors, for example to make it easier for hikers to find their way in the evening. For these purposes, light sources are required whose light cone is relatively narrow and illuminates a limited radius. The flashlight has no effect around this radius and only little stray light penetrates into the surrounding area. However, hikers are often in open terrain for several days or even weeks and therefore need a light source in the evening in the tent or in non-electrified huts, which makes it possible to illuminate a tent or a room as a whole. However, conventional flashlights are unsuitable for this, as they only illuminate a limited radius and have little scattered radiation. In this respect, a normal flashlight is unable to illuminate a room.
Allerdings streuen LEDs stark. Bei der Beleuchtungs Vorrichtung nach DE 100 04 019 zum Anstrahlen von Gegenständen wird daher jeder LED ein Gehäuse mit einer Linse zugeordnet.LEDs have the advantage that they are energy-saving and durable. However, LEDs scatter widely. In the lighting device according to DE 100 04 019 for illuminating objects, each LED is therefore assigned a housing with a lens.
The task is therefore to provide an energy-saving flashlight that enables it to act as a powerful flashlight and can also serve as a light source to suitably illuminate rooms.
The invention is based on the knowledge that this object can be achieved by a flashlight which has a plurality of LEDs on the front side and a light source on the long side, the LEDs on the front side being protected by a cover plate, which at the points at which they covers the LEDs, each has an optical element.
The northern part of such a flashlight is that in addition to the normal function of the flashlight, namely the illumination of certain points or objects, this flashlight can also be used as a conventional light source for illuminating the room. This enables the hiker to dispense with the transport of another light source that he would otherwise need to illuminate his tent or a room at night.
The term “long side” is not to be interpreted narrowly. The long side is to be understood as the area that adjoins the first light source and serves as a container for the energy store. In the case of a rod torch, as shown in the figures, the second light source is on the rod of the torch accommodated.
The LEDs on the front side and the light source on the long side are preferably fed by a common energy store. The use of only one energy store has the advantage that little space is required to accommodate these energy stores and the flashlight can thus be kept small and handy.
Batteries are preferably used as energy stores, in this context the batteries being understood as all energy stores which allow energy to be stored for a long time. Conventional disposable batteries or rechargeable batteries are conceivable for energy storage. These batteries are preferably located in the handle of the flashlight. So that the batteries can be exchanged, the Open and close the handle for the exchange. If accumulators are used, they can preferably be removed, charged in a separate device and then returned to the flashlight. The conventional charging devices, which charge the batteries via sockets, or preferably a charger, which has solar panels, can be used as the charging device, whereby the batteries can be regenerated. Such chargers equipped with solar panels have the advantage that the rechargeable batteries can also be regenerated when there are no conventional energy sources, such as sockets, which means that charging is also possible outside of civilization in nature. However, it is also conceivable that the battery can remain in the flashlight and for this purpose the flashlight has a device which makes it possible to recharge the battery via a plug-in function, the flashlight thereby being connected to external energy sources such as generators, sockets or solar panels Is connected.
The LEDs on the one hand and the light source on the other hand preferably have independent circuits. This has the advantage that the LEDs and the light source can be operated independently of one another, thereby protecting the energy store against unnecessary energy loss. Each circuit preferably has its own switch for switching this circuit on and off, surface switch elements preferably being used.
The LEDs are preferably attached in a circle at the front end of the flashlight. The use of LEDs has the advantage that they are energy-saving and durable.
It is further preferred that the individual LEDs can be switched on independently of one another. This individual connection allows the light intensity to be optimally adapted to the actual lighting conditions. In addition, it is preferred that some of the LEDs emit more blue light. Using only blue-emitting LEDs allows illuminated animals to see sweat, which is often of great relevance when observing animals. So is preferred that all blue-emitting LEDs can be switched on and off separately, in addition to the other LEDs that can be switched on and off separately.
The LEDs are protected by the cover plate. This cover plate secures the light sources against moisture and impact. The cover plate is preferably polycarbonate.
In the places where the cover plate shields the LEDs, the cover plate is of such a nature that the light is collected. The collection is necessary for the LEDs because they scatter extremely strongly. In order to compensate for this strong scattering effect, a collection of light is necessary. Accordingly, the optical elements on the cover plate are preferably designed as converging lenses.
The light source, which is attached to the longitudinal side of the flashlight, is preferably designed as a light bar that runs along the longitudinal axis. This has the advantage that the light source is not only point-shaped, and therefore not only a light cone is formed, but also a wide scattered light is available.
It is also conceivable that the light source runs as a light bar perpendicular to the longitudinal axis and forms a circle. It is also conceivable that in both cases (along or perpendicular to the longitudinal axis) the light source used is not a relatively narrow light bar, but rather a broad light area. This would result in a closed lateral surface in the case of a vertical arrangement of the light source with respect to the longitudinal axis.
The light source is preferably a fluorescent tube, preferably with low energy consumption. This in turn has the advantage that this light source can be used over a longer period of time without unnecessarily stressing the energy store.
The light source preferably emerges at least partially from the housing of the flashlight in order to be able to use the light source, which radiates in all directions, better. Preferably, the light source on the long side is also protected by a cover plate in order to secure it against moisture and shock. The cover is preferably made of polycarbonate.
Reflectors are preferably provided behind the LEDs on the front side and the light source on the long side, in order to be able to use the light sources more effectively.
All LEDs can preferably be replaced individually in order to be able to significantly increase the life of the flashlight.
In the following an embodiment will be described with reference to the accompanying drawings.
