Abstract

The aim of the invention is to provide a space-saving display of a video sequence (2). To this end, the video sequence (2) is divided into segments (1), and the segments (1) are converted into segment symbols (3) by means of a filtering (20). When lined up, these segment symbols form a time line display (4) of the video sequence (2).
