Abstract

A receiver for use in a communications system comprising a transmitter. The receiver (C) comprising storage means for storing data representing characteristics of the channel impulse response (P1, P2, P3, P4, P5) of the transmission channel between a predetermined transmitter (A) and the receiver (C). The receiver further comprising discriminating means for discriminating received signals emanating from the predetermined transmitter (A), from signals emanating from another source (B), on the basis of data stored in said storage means.
