Abstract

Le système de transmission selon l'invention présente une station principale et au moins une station secondaire, lesquelles stations sont couplées par l'intermédiaire d'un support de transmission. Chacune desdites stations comprend des moyens permettant la transmission entre les stations respectives. La station principale comprend une unité à porteuses multiples couplée au support de transmission. Sur chaque fréquence aval de porteuse, il existe des flots de données dont le contenu est contrôlé par un utilisateur à l'aide de moyens de transmission qui sont des modems à support de transmission commun. En particulier, les informations de contrôle sont destinées au contrôle des charges de données utiles sur la ou les porteuse(s). Le support de transmission comprend un support constitué en partie de fibres, en partie d'un câble coaxial. Une flexibilité améliorée à coût réduit est obtenue à l'aide des modems à câble commun lors de la transmission de services d'abonnés, tels que de vidéo à la demande, de télévision à la carte, de télévision spéciale, telle que de services de télévision à haute définition, de services WEB, de données, de voix ou analogues.
