Definitions
- the present invention relates to a hydroelectric machine.
- Electric power generation is subject.! to different constraints that result from the negative effects of this production. These constraints are constituted on the one hand, by the long-term availability of fossil fuels and by the pollution that their combustion causes and, on the other hand, by the uncertain yield of the two main alternative energies - wind and solar - and, finally, by the security problem and by the unpopularity encountered by the extension of the use of nuclear energy. All the negative effects of energy production electri ⁇ has two important consequences: first, the volume of invested ⁇ ments increases more and more and, secondly, the degradation of the environment made every day more sensitive.
- the present invention aims to provide an electric machine producing electricity without harmful effects on the surrounding ⁇ , with installation costs and relatively moderate operation.
- the machine according to the invention comprises:
- At least one arm capable of turning around an axis, the axis being located on a base in the center of a circular basin filled with water, the length of this arm being at least that of the radius of said basin,
- said arm supporting an assembly comprising a pump and, downstream, a turbine connected to the rotor of a first electric ⁇ tric current generator, - said arms being integral with a first sheave, itself connected to a second wheel with a throat of smaller diameter, by means of a transmission belt,
- the axis of the second grooved wheel being integral with the rotor of a two xth electric current generator. so that, when the machine is started, there are two simultaneous effects: on the one hand, the water jet expelled by the pump towards the blades of the turbine, drives through it the first generation erator to produce electric current and, on the other hand, the same jet generates a reaction effect at its output from the pump and causes the rotation of the arm and, therefore, the rotation of the first grooved wheel which, at in turn, and thanks to the transmission belt, causes the rotation of the second grooved wheel.
- the latter being integral with the rotor of the second electric current generator, causes, by its own rotation, that of this rotor and the second generator also supplies electric current.
- the machine according to the invention therefore recovers the effect of the expulsion of water by a pump and at high speed, towards the blades of a turbine, twice: a first time by the action of the striking jet the blades of the turbine and so turning on the first generator neck ⁇ electric rant, and a second time by exploiting the feedback effect generated by the jet coming out of the pump, which causes the rotation of the two sheaves and, consequently, drives the second generator to also produce electric current.
- the assembly formed by the arm and the first grooved wheel is supported by non-deformable wheels, intended to rotate following the circular track formed by the upper surface of the outer wall of the circular basin.
- two conductive metal rings are supported at the upper end of the axis of rotation of the arm, opposite two other respective conductive metal rings por ⁇ tees by a nonconductive horizontal plane, itself supported by a structure independent of the machine, said metal rings being connected in particular by means of brushes or brooms conduc tors ⁇ .
- two other rings metallic conductors supported by the same horizontal plane, face two metal rings said metal rings respective conductors being connected in particular by means of conductive brushes or brooms.
- the machine may include a number of arms, each carrying the assembly formed by the pump, the turbine and the generator.
- Figure 1 is a schematic sectional view of the. Machine according to the invention.
- FIG. 2 is a top view of the machine according to the invention according to arrow II in FIG. 1.
- the electric machine 1 is constituted as follows. In the center of a circular basin 2 filled with water, there is provided a base 3 on which is mounted, so as to be able to rotate, an axis 4.
- the axis 4 can rotate, for example, by means of a ball bearing (not shown) provided at the interface of parts 3A and 3B of base 3.
- the axis 4 carries, in the vicinity of its lower end, a number of horizontal arms 5 (au. ⁇ n unins; one arm). This number can vary as required, as illustrated by the fact that, in Figure 2, two arms 5 are shown in solid lines and two others in phantom.
- each arm 5 there is provided a pump 9 for expelling a high velocity water jet to the blades 10 of a turbine 11, the axis of rotation of the latter being integral with the rotor of the first gene ⁇ Operator 12 electric current.
- the pump 9 is fed directly ⁇ water from the tank 2 through a pipe 8 which is immersed in the basin. The water sucked in and then expelled by the pump 9 to the blades 10 of the turbine 11, falls back into the basin 2.
- each horizontal arm 5 carries a support 13 to which a grooved wheel is fixed 14.
- the assembly formed by the arm 5, the support 13 and the grooved wheel 14, is supported by wheels 15, ⁇ tines to turn following the circular track 16 formed by the upper surface of the outer wall 2A of the basin 2.
- the wheels 15 are made of a hard material, so as to avoid their deformation.
- the grooved wheel 14 carries a transmission belt 17 which passes through another grooved wheel 18, of smaller diameter, the axis 19 of which is integral with the rotor of the second generator 20 of electric current (FIG. 2).
- the water supply to the pump 9 is done directly from the basin 2.
- the water supply mode of the pump 9 can be done in different ways: either the pump 9 draws water from the basin 2 via a pipe 8, or the pump 9 is connected to a water tank 6, supplied by a second pump 7, which draws water from the basin 2 by means of a pipe 8A. In the latter case, the pump 9 becomes the main pump and the pump 7 becomes the secondary pump.
- the choice between the two possibilities of supplying water to the pump 9 is made according to the constraints of the installation.
- the main pump 9 is supplied with electrical energy in the following manner, for example.
- two conductive metal rings 21A, 22A are supported, isolated from axis 4 and their supports.
- two other conductive metal rings 21B, 22B are carried by a horizontal non-conductive plane, itself supported by a fixed structure 24, independent of the machine.
- connection between the conductive metal rings 21A, 22A and 21B, 22B, respectively, can be obtained by means of conductive brushes (or conductive brushes), so that the two polarity of the electric current can be ensured and that thus the pump 9 can be supplied with energy through the cables 25, 26, respectively.
- the secondary pump 7 In the event that the secondary pump 7 is used, its supply of electric current would follow exactly the same path as that of the main pump 9. However, the secondary pump 7 would use separate electric cables, namely the cables 25A, 26A ( dashed in Figure 1).
- the conductive metal rings 21B, 22B are connected to a source of electrical energy external to the machine and not shown in FIGS. 1 and 2.
- two other metallic rings concentri ⁇ ques conductors 27A, 28A are supported by the horizontal plane 23. They face two other respective conductive rings 27B, 28B, carried by insulating rods 29, 30, supported by the arm 5, allowing, through the cables 31, 32, to convey the electric current supplied by the first generator 12.
- the connection between said rings 27A, 28A and 27B, 28B, respectively, can also be obtained by means of conductive brushes (or conductive brushes) in order to ensure the transport of the electrical energy supplied by the generator 12 out of the machine .
- the machine according to the invention operates as follows.
- the pump 9 draws water from the basin 2 and expels it at high speed to the blades 10 of the turbine 11.
- the action of the water jet which leaves the pump 9 is twofold. On the one hand, it strikes the blades 10 of the turbine 11, and the latter, thanks to its axis integral with the rotor of the first generator 12, drives this generator to produce electric current; on the other hand, the same jet of water expelled by the pump 9, generates the rotation of the horizontal arm 5 around the axis 4 (arrow F in Figure 2).
- the arm 5 being integral with the first grooved wheel 14, its rotation causes that of said wheel, then, the latter being connected to the second grooved wheel 18, of smaller diameter, thanks to the transmission belt 18, the second grooved wheel 18 rotates in turn .
- this second grooved wheel 18 being integral with the axis 19 of the rotor of a second generator 20 of electric current, its rotation causes that of the rotor and the second generator 20 also produces electric current.
- the total electric current production will be the sum of the productions of the two generators 12, 20, taking into account the losses, in particular at the level of the efficiency of the generators 12, 20; pump 9 (and possibly pump 7); turbine 11; two grooved wheels 14, 18; and finally the friction of the support wheels 15.
