Abstract

The invention relates to a continuously variable transmission for a motor vehicle, comprising a first shaft (2) which is associated with an input element actuated by a drive unit by means of torque and comprises a first set (3) of conical disks, and a second shaft (4) which is connected to a main drive pinion and comprises a second set (5) of conical disks. Said sets of conical disks respectively consist of a first conical disk (3a, 5a) which is connected to the corresponding shaft in a fixed manner and a second conical disk (3b, 5b) which can be axially displaced by means of a displacement device. The inventive continuously variable transmission also comprises means for starting the motor vehicle (10) and means for transmitting the torque to at least one drive wheel.
