Abstract

A method of communication and a communication system (10) are provided, for multi-channel communication. The method comprises generating a plurality of source signals (18), each being associated with a broadcast channel, transmitting the source signals (18), and receiving the source signals (18) in receiving devices (30). A broadcast channel is selected on each receiving device (30), and an output associated with the selected broadcast channel is generated in the receiving device (30). The system includes a plurality of source signa ltransducers (12), a plurality of radio transmitters (14) and at least one receiving device (30).The method and communication system are characterised in that the source signals (18) are transmitted as a short range radio signals, allowing localised communication, such as reporting of sports events, localised to the events.
