  • the invention relates to a thermal insulation apparatus for a bottle or container such as a beer bottle and will primarily be described with reference to this context .
  • Typical thermal insulation devices involve placing a material which acts as a thermal barrier at the exterior of the object which is to be insulated.
  • Examples include soft-shelled packs which have a metallic foil coating, typically used as wine bottle 'coolers'. These devices contain an insulating fluid which is usually refrigerated prior to use, however can be of limited value, particularly if frozen into an awkward shape.
  • Other examples of thermal barriers include flexible beer bottle coolers, typically made of neoprene or other flexible rubber or plastic material. These insulating devices have no inherent capability to be prior heated or cooled and are of limited usefulness. Such cover devices can provide some thermal or physical protection for the vessel, or conceal the vessel itself. The known apparatus usually provides these features to a limited extent.

  • the pair of crescent- shaped elements 16 are positioned in the sleeve 12 on opposing sides of the bottle when the bottle is placed in the cooler 10.
  • the thermal container elements 16 need not be cylindrical or elongate but can be of various shapes, for example cubes, rectangular prisms or spheres, all being retained in the sleeve by the lid of the cooler in use.
  • the lid of the vessel can be one or more straps or strips, for example, of a material such as VelcroTM, which act to retain the container elements within the sleeve.
  • the sleeve 12 has receiving means in the form of a pair of elongate and inwardly protruding ribs 26 located on opposing sides of the interior surface wall 24.

Abstract

L'invention concerne un refroidisseur de bouteilles à dispositif de contrôle thermique (10) qui comprend un récipient sous forme de manchon cylindrique allongé (12) à base hermétique soutenant une bouteille placée dans ce manchon (12), lequel présente un haut ouvert (14) recevant au moins une partie inférieure de la bouteille (non représenté). Le refroidisseur (10) comporte deux éléments de contenant amovibles qui sont des cylindres à section transversale en forme de croissant (16), et qui contiennent un fluide à conduction thermique. Les cylindres (16) sont logés dans le manchon (12) via l'extrémité (supérieure) ouverte (14) de celui-ci et sont maintenus en position fixe dans ledit manchon (12) par un couvercle (18) qui s'adapte à la bordure (20) de l'extrémité ouverte (14) du manchon. Le couvercle (18) comporte un trou (22) dimensionné pour le passage de la bouteille, à l'entrée et à la sortie du refroidisseur (10), tandis que le couvercle (18) reste fixé sur le manchon (12). Une fois logés dans le manchon (12), les cylindres (16) font face étroitement à la surface externe de la bouteille placée dans le refroidisseur (10) et à une surface interne (24) du manchon (12), se trouvant entre les deux. Aux fins de l'invention, on présente plusieurs variantes de refroidisseur de bouteille et de liquide en vrac. L'appareil décrit peut également être un réchauffeur.
