The subject of the invention is an advertising board with variable images used for displaying graphic images, advertising texts, enabling to present changing images in a fixed cycle. According to the invention, the advertising board contains rotary exposure elements (7, 9) in the form of regular prisms of square cross-sections. Said exposure elements (7, 9) are rotationally attached to frames (1, 2) located in the housing which may also be one of the frames (1), the first, third and successive odd exposure elements (9) being connected to one of the frames (2), forming a separate unit with a rotary drive of exposure elements (9) contained in this frame while the second, fourth and other even elements (7) are attached to the second fixed frame (1) which also forms a separate unit with these elements and rotary drive. At least one frame (2) forming a unit with exposure elements and their rotary drive is slidably attached to housing (1). The axes of rotary exposure elements (7, 9) are shifted in relation to the plane of axes of drive transmitting wheels (10, 11) to their rotation by at least the diameter of rotation transmitting wheel (8), the said shift being towards inner fronts of frame units (1, 2) located opposite each to other with exposure elements (7, 9) placed in these frames.

Description

Information and Advertising Billboard with Changing Pictures
The subject of the invention is an information and advertising billboard with changing pictures, used for exposure of graphic images, advertising texts and similar data, making possible presenting changing pictures in a fixed cycle.
Billboards with changing images appearing over specific time intervals are known. For instance, the Swedish patent specification No.408833 provides a description of a board constituting a signboard containing regular triangular prisms set up on bases so that they may be rotated close to each other in a frame, forming three different signboards presented in cycles. The prisms are rotated synchronously by the electric motor through a non-variable gear.
Also, a Polish patent specification No.154983 describes a board used for displaying information which contains a frame in which rotary elements in the form of regular triangular prisms are located. The said prisms are rotated by an electric motor coupled with a suitably shaped driving axle. Simultaneous rotation of all elements and their synchronous stoppage results in the formation of a plane with suitable information from the sides of triangular prisms.
Apart from those mentioned above, a number of other arrangements of variable image boards are known, among other those described in Polish patent specifications No.170521 and 170535 whose aim was to present as many images as possible. Having in mind the possibility of collision-free rotation of particular exposure elements, in all cases they are shaped in the form of regular prisms with a equilateral triangle cross-section. As shown above, previous arrangements limit the number of various images or information on one board down to three.
The purpose of the present invention is to increase the number of the existing possibilities by developing a new design of the advertising billboard.
According to the invention the advertising billboard with changing images, containing a housing and rotary exposure elements in the form of regular prisms as well as driving electrical motors with gears, is characterized by the fact that the exposure elements are prisms with square cross-sections and are rotationally combined with frames built-in in the housing, the first, third and other odd prisms being attached to one frame while the second, fourth and other even prisms are attached to another frame located opposite to the previous frame and constitute separate units with these frames and separate drives, of which at least one is slidably attached to the housing. The axes of rotary exposure elements are shifted in relation to the plane of drive-transmitting wheel axes at least by the rotation transmitting wheel diameter, this shift being situated towards inner fronts of opposite frame units with exposure elements located in these frames.
The arrangement according to the invention, owing to a suitable separation of the set of rotary exposure elements into separate units with possible shifting of one element against the other and suitable location of exposure elements in relation to their drive in particular units, made it possible to use prisms with square cross-sections, instead of the former prisms with triangular cross-sections. Owing to this fact, one can expose one additional image. This is an essential achievement enabling to utilize the advertising billboards more effectively.
The subject of the invention is explained in more detail in a drawing in which Fig.l is a diagram of the advertising board from one side, Fig.2 - a vertical cross-section, and Fig.3 - a transverse cross-section.
The advertising board with variable images according to the invention, as shown in the drawing, contains a housing forming a fixed frame 1 in which frame 2 slidably attached to fixed frame 1 is located through guide screws 3 driven by separate electric motors 4. In addition, slidable frame 2 is supported on the bottom beam of fixed frame 1 through road wheels 5. Even exposure elements 7 in the form of regular prisms of square cross-sections are mounted rotationally through bearings 6 to fixed frame 1. Rotation transmitting wheels 8 are mounted on the top journal of exposure elements 7 and 9. The axis of rotation of even and odd exposure elements 7 and 9 is shifted in relation to axes of wheels 10 and 11 transmitting the drive to their rotation towards the fronts of slidable frame 2 and fixed frame 1 mutually facing each other by 1.5 diameter of rotation transmitting wheels 8. The said wheels 10 which transmit the drive to even exposure elements 7 are mounted rotationally in fixed frame 1 and are driven by electric motor 12 through chains 13. In addition, odd exposure elements 9 of the same shape and size as even exposure elements 7 are mounted rotationally to slidable frame 2 similarly as to fixed frame 1. Wheels 11 transmitting the drive to odd exposure elements 9 through chains 14 from an electric motor, not shown in the drawing, also attached to that frame, are mounted on slidable frame 2, in a similar way as on fixed frame 1. Wheels 15 and 16 transmitting rotation through wheels 8 to exposure elements 7 and 9 are mounted on the axes of drive-transmitting wheels 10 and 11.
In view of the fact that in the arrangement according to the invention a regular prism of the square cross-section was used as exposure elements 7 and 9, in order to change the image by their synchronous rotation, it is necessary to withdraw odd exposure elements 9 located in slidable frame 2 to the distance which makes possible this rotation. After reaching a suitable position, the drives of even and odd exposure elements 7 and 9 are turned on, and completing the rotation, frame 2 is shifted to its initial position. As a result, a new image is composed. A controller incorporated in the shift and rotation supply system makes possible controlling the exposure time and the image changing speed.
