Abstract

A speed change device simplified in structure, of which the weight and costs can be reduced, and which enables effective transmission of even large power. The speed change device is provided with power rollers (40) and planetary rollers (44). The power rollers (40) frictionally engage with a pair of power wheels (30), (32) through inclined faces (40a), (40b) at both end portions of the power rollers and, as they rotate on their own axes, revolve round the center axis (C) of the power wheels. The planetary rollers (44) frictionally engage with peripheries of the power rollers and, as they rotate on their own axes, revolve round the center axis (C) of the power wheel. A guide face (46) that frictionally engages with peripheries of the planetary rollers support, through the planetary rollers (44), the power rollers (40) that are urged toward the center axis (C) of the power wheels by the pressing force exerted by the pair of the power wheels, retaining the power rollers (40) and the planetary rollers (44) respectively at equal intervals in a circumferential direction.
