Abstract

The invention relates to a novel method of transferring information to a remote control. The inventive method can be used to divide a remote control transmission signal into three parts, namely the protocol (signal waveform), data relating to keys (information about each key) and the number of the key or function. By dividing a signal into said three parts, the signal can be stored in an external memory unit. Moreover, by means of a momentary or permanent contact between the remote control and the external memory unit, the information necessary to generate a remote control transmission signal can be transferred. According to the invention, a novel and very simple method of updating a remote control is provided thanks to the simplification and speed of the programming.

ANTECEDENTES Existen actualmente dos tipos de controles remotos, para un solo equipo electrónico y para varios equipos electrónicos, estos últimos pueden programarse mediante códigos desde el teclado o mediante un proceso de lectura de señal para generar un duplicado, existen varios inconvenientes importantes, uno es el número limitado de modelos de controles remotos incluidos en los controles remotos universales y así como también la falta de información sobre la ubicación de las funciones del control remoto a reemplazar dentro de un control remoto universal. Esto genera que un control remoto universal de reemplazo se haga obsoleto cuando se diseñe un nuevo control remoto para equipo electrónico antes de la fecha de fabricación del control remoto universal . La invención aquí presentada consiste en un proceso de transferencia de información para programar controles remotos mediante una memoria externa. La memoria externa contiene el protocolo de la señal (forma de onda de la señal), los datos de cada tecla y los nombres de cada tecla o función, los cuales se pueden transferir a través de un contacto momentáneo ente el receptáculo de nuevo control remoto y la memoria externa. Este nuevo proceso soluciona dos inconvenientes relevantes, el primero, el número limitado de modelos de controles remotos incluidos en los controles remotos universales existentes y el segundo, la forma de programación. Lo anterior permite tener capacidad de manejar varios equipos electrónicos con nuevo control remoto, colocando los datos de controles remotos de los equipos electrónicos originales en memorias externas. La figura 1, es un diagrama a bloques de sistema y consta de un microcontrolador (b), el cual tiene la posibilidad de leer tanto la memoria interna (c) y externa (f), procesar la información; emitir la señal mediante el diodo emisor de luz infrarroja (a) y desplegar el nombre el desplegador de caracteres (d) de la tecla seleccionada a través del teclado (e). La figura 2, muestra un diagrama a bloques de la estructura de la memoria externa, en esta podemos dividir la información de un control remoto en tres partes, los datos de códigos de transmisión (a), los datos de señal de transmisión (b) y los nombres de las funciones (c). Realizando esta división podemos aislar la información y recuperarla a través de la lectura de una memoria externa.
