Abstract

The invention relates to a method for phosphating metallic surfaces. According to the inventive method, a) a correlation between the result of the phosphation, the accelerator content and at least one other characteristic parameter for the phosphation process is determined or pre-defined, b) the accelerator content is determined, c) the at least one other characteristic parameter for the phosphation process is detected or determined, d) a nominal value for the accelerator content is calculated on the basis of the correlation which is determined or pre-defined in step a) and on the basis of the at least one other characteristic parameter for the phosphation process, said nominal value leading to a desired, previously fixed phosphation result, and e) in the event of the nominal value for the accelerator content, calculated in step d), being higher than the value determined in step b), a quantity of accelerator is added to the phosphating bath, by activation of a dosing device, such that the nominal value of the accelerator calculated in step d) is reached.
