Description

CONDENSER FOR REFRIGERATORS Field of the Invention
The present invention refers to a skin type condenser for combined refrigerators of the type comprising a freezing compartment and a refrigerating compartment, which are lodged inside an external metallic box closed by two front doors, one door for each compartment . Prior Art The combined refrigerators of the type considered herein have each compartment frontally surrounded by a front peripheral flange defined by a flap incorporated to the external metallic box of the cabinet, against this front peripheral flange being seated the sealing gasket of the respective door of the refrigerator.
In order to prevent cooling of the front peripheral flange of the freezing compartment and the consequent condensation of the air humidity in the region of said flange, the latter is heated, from the interior thereof, by a heating tube provided in series with the refrigeration system generally between the condenser and the evaporator.
In this type of construction, it is also common to use skin type condensers, in which the two lateral walls and the upper wall of the external metallic box are used as heat dissipating fins, against which is internally seated the tubing for conducting the refrigerant gas that is pumped by the compressor and which will be condensed before entering the evaporator of the refrigeration system.
The known constructive arrangements that use an external tube-fin condenser or a skin type condenser, require the incorporation, to the refrigerant gas tubing, of an additional heating tube extension provided in the cabinet region internal to the front peripheral flange of the freezing compartment. However, the provision of an additional heating tube extension increases labor and material costs for assembling it in series with the refrigerant gas tubing inside the cabinet, besides creating welding points at the junctions of the heating tube extension, which require additional care for obtaining the required tightness and desired quality for the product to be commercialized. Object of the Invention
Due to the problems mentioned above related to the provision of the heating tube of the front peripheral flange of the upper freezing compartment of the combined refrigerators, the object of the present invention is to provide a skin type condenser for this type of refrigerator, presenting a simple constructive solution incorporating the heating tube, in order to eliminate points of junctions with the refrigerant gas tubing and to facilitate its assembly in the front region of the freezing compartment.
Summary of the Invention
The skin type condenser of the present invention is applied to combined refrigerators, in which the freezing compartment and the refrigerating compartment are contained within an external metallic box and they are frontally surrounded by respective front peripheral flanges incorporated to the external metallic box and against which the doors of the refrigerator are seated. According to the invention, the condenser comprises first and second condenser tube portions, each being seated and affixed internal to a respective lateral wall of the external metallic box that operates as a heat dissipating fin. Moreover, the condenser is further provided with a heating tube arranged in series and in a single piece with the first and second condenser tube portions and seated internal to a front peripheral flange of the freezing compartment . With the new construction, the heating tube is now part of the condenser, which is thus formed in a single and continuous tube extension, with no welding points or junctions, except those end junctions that are necessary for the coupling thereof to the drying filter and to the outlet of the compressor of the refrigerating circuit of the refrigerator. Brief Description of the Drawings
The invention will be described below, with reference to the enclosed drawings, in which: Fig. 1 is a partial simplified front perspective view of the cabinet of a combined refrigerator, without the front doors and illustrating in dash lines the position of the condenser in relation to the lateral walls and to the upper front peripheral flange of the external metallic box of the refrigerator;
Fig. 2 is an isometric perspective view of the condenser illustrated in dashed lines in figure 1; and Fig. 3 is a partial horizontal sectional view of the refrigerator, taken at the height of the freezing compartment, illustrating the position of the condenser in relation to the external metallic box. Description of the Illustrated Embodiment The condenser in question is of the skin type applied to a combined refrigerator, whose cabinet comprises a freezing compartment C and a refrigerating compartment
R, which are contained in the interior of an external metallic box 1, which incorporates, in a single piece and surrounding frontally each of the compartments, a front peripheral flange 2, against which is seated the respective door (not illustrated) of the refrigerator. According to the invention, the condenser comprises a first condenser tube portion 10 and a second condenser tube portion 20, each being seated and affixed internal to a respective lateral wall 3 of the external metallic box 1, more particularly against the region of the lateral walls 3 corresponding to the lateral walls of the refrigerating compartment R positioned generally below the freezing compartment C. The fixation of the first and second condenser tube portions 10, 20 against the respective lateral wall 3 of the external metallic box 1 can be made by any adequate process, such as by thermically conductive tapes 5. One of the ends of one of the condenser tube portions 10, 20 is connected to the outlet of the compressor (not illustrated) of the refrigerating circuit of the refrigerator, whereas one of the ends of the other condenser tube portion 10, 20 is connected to the inlet of the drying filter (not illustrated) of the refrigerator.
The condenser is completed with a heating tube 30 interconnecting, in series and in a single piece, the first and second condenser tube portions 10, 20, and being seated internal to the front peripheral flange 2 of the freezing compartment C, in order to heat said flange and prevent humidity to condensate thereon. As illustrated in figure 3, the heating tube 30 can be retained by an internal bending of the front peripheral flange 2 of the freezing compartment C, or otherwise assembled so as to transmit heat from the refrigerating gas to said flange.
The heating tube 30 is mounted so that it extends along the whole contour of the front peripheral flange
2.
