Abstract

The crushing roller especially for fodder granulation is the object of the invention. The roller is characterised by arch-shaped cogs suitably incised on its circumference, special feature of which is changing of transverse sections of cogs, allowing proper medium squeezing over the whole roller's width, what increases durability of the roller and mating matrix, facilitates granulation process, increases efficiency of granulating unit. The roller according to the invention is easy for manufacturing.

Description

Crushing rollers especially for fodder granulating
The crashing roller especially for fodder granulation is the object of the invention. There are known many various crush rolls for pellets production. We know cylindrical rolls with cogged incision, parallel to symmetry axis, placed on circumference over the whole cylindrical surface of a roller. Those rolls are characterised by very good properties of gathering and squeezing fodder into matrix, while short durability for the sake of unequal wear caused by fodder slipping out on side surfaces of a cylindrical rolls is a disadvantage of such rollers. We also know rollers with combination of cogged incisions in the middle part of the cylindrical surface of the roller and drilled spots on external edges of this surface. Those rolls show very- good properties of gathering and squeezing fodder into matrix, but are more difficult in manufacturing and very laborious. There are also known rollers with drilled spots placed evenly over the whole cylindrical surface of the roll however, these badly gather and squeeze fodder, especially for small roll diameters, what makes granulation process more difficult. We know rolls of the rough surface, make by padding of the whole cylindrical surface. Padded rolls have similar characteristics like drilled ones, but because of costs they are not broadly used. We also know rollers with incisions of hollows of curve and broken lines of the same depth on the whole length of incisions, but because of necessity of using of special machine tools and big laboriousness they are not broadly used.
The characteristic feature of the crushing roller for pellets production, according to the invention, is making incised cogs on the cylindrical surface in form of arches over the whole roll circumference, while cogs depths are diverse.
Cog incision in form of consecutive arches of variable depth has favourable effect on fodder movement between a roller and a mating matrix.
Correct fodder gathering and squeezing to the matrix is also good feature.
It is also favourable that durability of the roller and the matrix is increased thanks to even wear of mating surfaces, what is influenced by limitation of fodder pulling out of side zones of the crushing roller.
The crashing roller according to the invention rationalises granulation process through good fodder gathering and squeezing it into the matrix.
Cogs incising in form of arches is easy to make, little laborious, what significantly decreases costs of manufacturing. The object of the invention is presented on figures, where:
- fig. 1 shows an exemplary roller with double cogs incisions in form of arches,
- fig. 2 shows an exemplary roller with singly cogged incisions in form of arches,
- fig. 3 shows a section of a roller along the A- A line, marked on fig. 2,
- fig. 4 shows shape of an incised cog with incising tool fixed at level of the X-X symmetry axle of the roller,
- fig. 5 shows shape of an incised cog with incising tool fixed above the level of the X-X symmetry axle of the roller,
- fig. 6 shows shape of an incised cog with incising tool fixed below the level of the X-X symmetry axle of the roller,
- fig. 7 shows the B-B section of an incised cog along a groove in developed view according to incisions shown on fig. 4 and 6,
- fig. 8 shows the C-C section of an incised cog along a groove in developed view according to incisions shown on fig. 5,
- fig. 9 shows D-D section from fig. 5 and fig.6,
- fig. 10 shows F-F section from fig. 5 ,
- fig. 11 shows H-H section from fig. 4 and fig.6,
- fig. 12 shows E-E section from fig. 5.
Cogs' dimensions in D-D section shown on fig. 9 are smaller than cogs of H-H sections presented on fig. 11. Cogs' dimensions in F-F section are bigger than sections in E-E and D-D shown on fig. 5. Dimensions of a, b and c cogs may have the same or various dimensions, while cogs' walls are placed with respect to one another with "α" angle. Dimension a<g and dimension b<h Dimension d>j>a and dimension k>e Dimension i>c and dimension f>l
According to the invention, cogs of the crushing roller - during fodder squeezing into matrix - form with mating matrix partially open or closed chambers, including pressed fodder. Change of incisions depth, decreasing from the middle towards external edges of the cylindrical part of the roller, equals squeezing pressure over the whole roll's width, what favourably effects on wear of the roller and the matrix.

Claims

Patent claims
1. The characteristic feature of the crashing roller especially for fodder granulating, having series of incisions in form of cogs or cylindrical hollows is that the cylindrical surface of the roller has transversely incised hollows in form of arches, where points of arches radiuses are situated at level of the symmetry axle of the roller or below this axle and width and depth of cogs in the middle part of the roller are bigger than the notch, which symmetrically going away towards extreme side roll edges.
2. The roll according to claim 1 is characterised with it that points of radial arches are situated above the symmetry axle of the roller and width and depth of cogs in the middle and extreme parts are lower than for cogs crossing symmetry axle of the roller.
3. The roll according to claims 1 and 2 is characterised with it that lateral edges of cogs are inclined with respect to one another with "α" angle.
