Abstract

The invention relates to a fuel injection system for the injection of fuel into the combustion chamber of an internal combustion engine. A number of fuel injectors (1) are pressurised with fuel under high pressure from a high-pressure common rail (2), by means of high pressure lines (4). The fuel injectors (1) comprise an annular chamber (12), into which a connector piece (7), for the high pressure line (4), opens. An additional volume (8, 21) is provided in the high pressure line (4), before the injector (9), viewed in the direction of flow of the fuel, which comprises a hydraulic decoupling element (6, 26) on the side thereof facing the common rail (2).
