Abstract

A handover system includes a radio base station (201B), a radio network control apparatus (202), and a mobile radio station (203). The radio base station (201B) has a number-of-calls detection unit (231) for calculating the number of calls of the mobile radio station communicating with the radio base station, a reception electric field intensity prediction unit (232) for predicting reception field strength from the calculated number of calls of the number-of-calls detection unit, a reception field strength measurement unit (233) for actually measuring the reception field strength, an interference wave detection unit (216) to determine whether interference wave is present according a difference between the reception field strength measured by the measurement unit and the reception field strength predicted by the prediction unit, and a compress mode execution start request unit (217) used when presence of interference wave is detected by the interference wave detection unit, for requesting the radio network control apparatus to start execution of the compress mode of the mobile radio station. When the compress mode execution start request unit has requested execution of compress mode, the radio network control apparatus (202) instructs execution of the compress mode. The compress mode is executed by the instruction of the control apparatus and when a signal of a predetermined frequency is found, the mobile radio station (203) handovers to a radio base station receiving the signal of the frequency.
