Abstract

Die Erfindung betrifft eine Membranbrennstoffzelle bestehend aus einer ionenleitenden Membran, die zwischen zwei mit katalytischen Reaktionsschichten versehenen Elektroden angeordnet ist, Diffusionsschichten sowie Gasverteilerstrukturen, wobei die Membran mindestens einen mit einem wässrigen Elektrolyten gefüllten Hohlraum (2) aufweist und dass dieser Hohlraum (2) mit mindestens einer Zu- und/oder Ableitung (3, 4) für den wässrigen Elektrolyten verbunden ist.
