Abstract

L'hydrogène et ses isotopes (deutérium et titrium) sont facilement absorbés dans des métaux comme le palladium et le titane, formant une solution solide interstitielle. Dans les états inférieurs, y compris à des densités élevées, la probabilité de collision entre deux isotopes d'hydrogène absorbés possède une valeur proche de zéro ou absolument négligeable. Cette probabilité de collision est toutefois non négligeable pour certains états relativement inférieurs (états de collision quantique). Généralement, les niveaux de collision quantique sont séparés de l'état fondamental par des énergies dans la gamme UV-rayons X faibles. Par conséquent, ils ne peuvent subir d'excitations thermiques mais peuvent être excités par résonance au moyen d'un rayonnement électromagnétique. Ainsi, l'invention concerne un nouveau procédé de production d'énergie par réactions de fusion nucléaire qui comprend les étapes consistant à: (1) charger le treillis métallique avec un isotope d'hydrogène jusqu'à un niveau dans lequel un grand nombre de cages interstitielles présentent au moins deux unités d'isotopes; (2) exciter les états de collision quantique par résonance au moyen d'un rayonnement électromagnétique.
