Abstract

Die Erfindung betrifft eine Vorrichtung zum Kopierschutz von insbesondere optischen Datenträgen wie CD/DVD. Durch das Aufbringen von zusätzlichen Kodierungsdaten innerhalb des Redundanzbereiches des logischen und/oder physikalischen Datenträgerformates erhält der Datenträger zusätzliche identifizierende Kennzeichen, wie Wasserzeichen. Aufgrund der automatisierten Fehlerkorrektur werden die zusätzlichen Kodierungsdaten von der Abspiel- und Darstellungseinheit nicht ausgegeben. Eine geeigneten Verifikationseinheit kann durch das Umgehen der Fehlerkorrektur die Kodierungsdaten aus den zufälligen Fehlerdaten, das sich als digitales weisses Rauschen zeigt, extrahiert werden. Das Kopieren des Datenträgers durch illegale, professionelle Kopiereinrichtungen würde zu einem Entfernen dieser zusätzlichen Kodierung führen, und damit ein klares Kriterium für eine illegale Kopie sein.
